Though I think Tav-Goldson-Souttar-Barisic is a backline that's perfectly capable of getting us to the CL groups. Big issue for us is we need some luck in the draw. If we draw Monaco in R3 or PSV in the PO then it might not matter what reinforcements we make. Those are two teams that will likely just put us on our arse, and we've a 50/50 chance of drawing PSV (assuming both sides win in R3). Is Souttar not injured at the moment?

I always assumed Souttar was signed as it was a good, cheap option if Goldson didn't sign an extension?
Guest
Is Souttar not injured at the moment? Well that's a question I don't miss every single week.

Yeah they profile similarly - both good in the air and both can progress the ball with long passing. I think if Goldson had left then Souttar would have been expected to take over 30 games of Goldson's 60 games a season load, with the remainder split between Leon King and a new signing. While they don't necessarily compliment each other in the way that Bassey and Goldson does, I think they're both good enough players that they should be able to play together without much issue. Plus we might well end up sticking Lundstram back there and play 3CB anyway.
Orbix
Tillman apparently in for medical - season long loan with option to buy. It’s exactly the kind of move we need to be making.
Clockwork
Decent fee for Bassey (if that’s correct), perhaps due to Ajax being a club that don’t usually agree to sell on clauses. Shame to lose a player like that from the game up here, but almost inevitable after the season he had last term. He’ll do well there, no question.

DMCs
Tillman announced and it's been confirmed there is an option to buy. I have one question though. Why has be taken number 71?

G51
Seems like it might be a Scottish record fee for Bassey

RandomGuy.
Im sure Rangers fans are looking forward to 20 pages worth of debate around transfer clauses and up front fees.

Bairnardo
Think aswell as clearly a good fee for Rangers its great business for Ajax. The sell on potential here is really big IMO. They are basically shoe horning themselves into a path that leads to the EPL for funny money.

They could keep him to try and get Champions League group stage football but I really can't see it. Especially if they're overhauling a squad if Kent and Morelos leave.

Said already that I think Ajax will sell him to an English club for £40m+ in 3 or 4 years.

Aye I agree, my previous post was about as close to a compliment as I’m willing to give them

The Daily Mail were saying last night that Ajax have bid £19m which hasn't been accepted. He has two years left on his deal so we aren't going to get this value again unless we get him to sign a new contract. No Bassey in our squad for the Blackpool game today which suggests a deal is likely.
