If Gerrard is to be offered the Villa job and he rejects it, he would be off his chump. A Premiership club( even if it is over inflated) a stepping stone to his beloved Liverpool.  I think he can get Villa consistently top 10 and pushing for Europe.

As for his replacement,  there is only one man in Scottish football.  That staunch sash wearing Irish proddie Tommy Wright. He can display his sash in the dug out on match day.

SSN this morning reporting that Villa are yet to identify the preferred candidate to replace Smith. Sounds like they've likely sounded out Gerrard and possibly a few others if that is to be the case. May be complete bollocks right enough and he is making plans to move down south as we speak.

I’m still 80/20 in favour of him actually staying, and the reporting on an approach automatically equalling him standing with a Villa scarf being a byproduct of English football-media arrogance.

would rather it was 100/0 but f**k all you can do.

Wonder how the fans will look back on his tenure, if he does go, due to the timing? Read someone online this morning, who said that it stinks. Asked him why and he said that less than six months ago when they won the league Gerrard said he got and loved the club, less than a month ago he was in tears at the death of Smith, and with it looking like winning the league this season is imperative to the club. Add all that up and he says his reputation is instantly tarnished.

If he does go now, he's basically the Rangers version of Wim Jansen. Sorted out the shit he inherited, got them in a better place and stopped the other lot winning 10IAR.

Nothing more than a good transitional manager (assuming Rangers get the next appointment right).

I've seen a couple of folk try to use Walter's passing as a reason that he should stay.  I think that's a fucking shite thing to be doing.  The two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other and folk need to have a fucking look at themselves if they're using that argument.

A section of Rangers fans being wildly inappropriate on social media, you say?

It's no like them.

This approach worked well for Rangers fans with their original club

In this instance the same source breaking down the accounts this time around is the same source that provided a detailed breakdown of just how bad things were ten years ago.

I've seen a few weirdo takes like this today. Some folk claiming the media have completely made the story up to unsettle Rangers as they're on the verge of running away with the title again.

Seems to be reported widely down South that Gerrard has asked to leave and has already agreed terms with Villa, and its not just down to Rangers accepting hes away or not.

Ignoring the very first thing I wrote then? Still a thick c**t.
