Maybe that's Scotland's problem, we like to have a go and get caught out, if Strachan played a back 7 he'd get hounded out. Got to love Lineker referring to that as a back 3. We were good enough to score 4 goals and play some nice stuff, but in the away game in particular we were fortunate not to concede more than 2. Northern Ireland know they are shite and set up accordingly. They even did this in a friendly against Scotland. They keep it very tight and try and grab something when the chance comes along. We used to do it ourselves. Maybe we should have stuck with it. Northern Ireland should really have changed the anthem a long time ago. Whatever you think about the anthem the simple fact is that it doesn't represent the communities that make up Northern Ireland. They have however made progress in other aspects in making the team more inclusive and there is certainly more cross community goodwill for them than there has been in the past. Tell you what get Strachan sacked and get O Neill in. Seriously NI can do that as they play a 5-3-1-1. imagine the reaction if Scotland did that. The last time Scotland were properly competitive was under Craig Brown, when we treated 0-0 as a great result.
