Trumpeting this as a Brexit benefit

Not sure that it has anything at all to do with it.

If, for instance, they removed VAT from energy bills, then they could rightly call that a brexit benefit but surely we had control of alcohol duty pre-Brexit.

Mere facts.

So we’re levelling the playing field, making the duty paid on pints in pubs up to 11p cheaper than at the shop.

Do they really think that cutting 10 or 11p from a pint that costs upwards of £5 or more is really going to be noticed by people in the pub? People make a choice to drink in expensive fashionable pubs and pay maybe a pound more per pint for the privilege, than if they were to drink in 'crap' pubs.

Desperate, fucking desperate but no doubt those who buy the Daily Express for the free DVD of 'The Cruel Sea' will be limping for joy.

Consumers are set to be hit by the biggest single increase in alcohol duty in almost 50 years.

How can a Prime Minister be so blatant with untruths and get a way with it. Oh hang about, technically he's maybe correct about protecting the price of a pint, but it's shame almost everything else a pub sells is screwed.

It's about as good as his pint pulling skills

However is Irish Cream a British favourite?

Easily in the top 5 I would say. Bailey's is incredibly popular in this country.

Surely this has to be the final nail in the coffin of Brexit the Glorious Opportunity.

The idea was that instead of complying with the long-familiar CE mark, showing that a product conforms to the EU’s safety rules, businesses selling into the UK market alone could instead apply for a homegrown red, white and blue equivalent – the UKCA.

Ministers had already repeatedly postponed the date at which UKCA was meant to replace CE in the British market. Now it has been delayed indefinitely.

There is nothing left of Brexit now just the wait until we eventually slink back in....

Anyone up for a sweepstake?

As ever, the customer won't notice because it won't be passed on. Your £5 pint will still be £5, the retailer will keep the extra 10p.

That will no doubt be of benefit to pub owners who are struggling but the idea that it is of any benefit at all to the customer is nonsense.

They couldn't just apologise, oh no, they had to go "what about...".

Pathetic stuff. I'm sure if it had been the other way round the Conservatives would have been no better.

Femi is sum boi.

He'll never top his tweet about driving all the way to Hull in his bare feet eating Toblerone at 3am to stop Brexit and getting a speeding ticket from it.
