I can’t imagine businesses are thanking either side for constantly saying, “x date is the last possible date for a deal and if we don’t have one by then, it’s no deal”, followed by that date passing and the same line being trotted out with a new one substituted. The truth is that Brexit is a form of economic and cultural cancer and the tumour is now long-established. Until now though it hasn't manifested itself in physical form but that is about to change, and month by month, year by year, UK citizens will steadily become aware of the magnitude of what they have been committed to.
