welshbairn
I've worked with Texans in the oil industry and they were nearly all KKK redneck material to a man. Don't think they were particularly representative of Texans in general though, vote seems pretty split down the middle and could change when there's only one Dem candidate. killiepiemuncher
Looks like Warren has sunk the dagger deep in to our boy Bernie. Establishment madness to stay in the race and split the vote when it was obvious to absolutely everyone she had zero chance. On the plus side, if it is Biden, then the debates between him and Trump will be sensational. ^^^this x a billion.Trump will absolutely destroy Biden in the debates.
Savage Henry
Trump will absolutely destroy Biden in the debates. Trump is terrified of Biden. The whole impeachment thing was about Trump’s crimes to get dirt on him. There’s a reason he’s afraid; Biden is his political superior, and is a damn sight more popular than he is. Also remember that in the debates, people see what they want to see.

Last time out, Trump acted creepy and grunted, which struck a chord with his fanbase, who grunt and act creepy. Joe can act creepy with the best of them and has the advantage of not looking like Leatherface cosplaying as Garfield.

But yet, here we are. The damage he has done to the Office is permanent. Of all the arguments against Biden, and there are many, his creepiness absolutely isn’t one of them.

Honestly, at this point a bit of toast would get my vote if it promised not to draw a swastika across itself in jam.
welshbairn
Tick tock. Quote Warren "is talking to her team to assess the path forward," an aide to the Massachusetts senator told CBS News. P.S. Bloomberg's out, backing Biden unsurprisingly. Edited March 4, 2020 by welshbairn
Michael W
At what point do people look at Michael Bloomberg's campaign and realise there is a serious problem with the nominee process? $400m spunked away for absolutely f**k all. Even those who do get something out of it are forking out tens of millions just for a shot at the presidency. Ridiculous. Bloomberg is an extreme example here in that he self-funded it and outspent everyone substantially, but the amount of spending needed in these things is laughable. In fairness it was largely his own money, and he’s been laughed out of the race, essentially.
welshbairn
Hopefully he'll spend another 5 billion slagging off and investigating Trump.

This is very true and he gets zero sympathy for me, but he is symptomatic of a wider problem. The whole thing is a collosal exercise in money being wasted.

DeeTillEhDeh
Undecided voters are basically morons. The DNC have done a good job of screwing Bernie. The next step will be for Biden to step down at the convention for health reasons and his delegates to switch to HRC or Kamala Harris. Harris will end up as Biden's running mate.

The Democrats will have gotten exactly what they deserve if Trump routs him.
MeadowArab
If Bernie loses the democratic nomination would he be allowed to run as an independent? If so, what are the chances of him doing so?

All a third party vote does here is split off the vote of the party their policy position is closest to; there's an argument to say Perot cost Bush Sr re-election in 1992. Bernie running independent all but guarantees Trump being re-elected, and I don't think he'd do it.

Absolute zero. He’d become a martyr in a non-existent cause.

Starting from scratch it would be too late in some big states, don't know what happens if he's already part of the process as a Democrat and wants to jump to run as an independent. https://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_access_for_presidential_candidates
Granny Danger
People get the sort of government they deserve. The Democrats will get the sort of candidate they deserve. A President Biden will be “better” than a President Trump in the same way Prime Minister Blair was “better” than Prime Minister John Major. As for all the people wanting better health care, tough tittie.
