The Official Former President Trump thread

Word is that Sanders could have it wrapped up by March 17th, giving him 8 months to campaign directly against Trump and to sell his alternative, which I think is sellable in the swing states. His choice of running partner will be interesting, AOC would be glorious but he might think he needs someone more conventional to reassure the centrists. "A heartbeat from the Presidency" would be on continuous loop on Fox.

AOC is too young, is she not? Bernie could have his pick of running mates - Elizabeth Warren would be the obvious choice, but you could pick any of the reasonable Democrat challengers. Mayor Pete seems to be the centrist of choice going by the very early caucuses.

Yeh you have to be 35 i think, AOC is too young in terms of their constitution.

Liz Warren won't be anywhere near Bernie's campaign. She has shown her true colours over past few months ago also has the Pocahontas problem.

Rashida Tlaib would be a boss move. It will probably be a woman of colour no is expecting (if Bernie survives the convention).

Mis-truths (or lies as we might call them) are absolutely no issue for presidential candidates. Donald Trump, when not ramping up tensions in the Middle East through blind and wilful ignorance, tells lies on a daily basis far more damagingly than exaggerating one’s Native American familial ties. He absolutely does not get to dictate the ethics of candidates.

It was really weird though. The whole “Bernie doesn’t think a woman can win” was equally peculiar, but equally irrelevant to the electorate.

She wouldn't have done the DNA test if she didn't think the family story about having Native American ancestors was true. And we don't know what Bernie said or didn't say about the likelihood of a female President. And as far as recruiting ex Clinton operatives, where else is she supposed to get experienced Democrats from?

I'd be pretty wary of choosing a running mate purely to try and beat Trump over the head with progressivism.

Choosing a woman of colour isn't a bad idea in the slightest but they absolutely should let that decision speak for itself.

I don't get how Dershowitz still gets gigs. He pretty much said "I'm not saying I fucked a child but if the chance came I would and so would all of you".

Because he gladly echoes Trump's nonsense on Fox for fun and dollars.
