Roker Rover
Not sure this is the right place to put this but I am trying to do the 92 in England and the 42 in Scotland and am making decent progress. Recently I went to Accrington Stanley and before the game I called into what once was Peel Park and the ground the former club used during their league days (They left the league in the 1960's). Its still a public park pitch and there was a game being played so I can honestly now say I have seen football played there. That got me thinking and I put a thread on the SMB (Sunderland Message Board) to try and identify how many ex football league grounds were still in use for sporting activity (some were and still are cricket grounds). I came up with 10 or so but the list has grown to about double that. My knowledge of Scottish football is nowhere near as comprehensive despite the fact I only have 2 grounds left to do up north and 19 down south, so I could do with some expert opinion on this one. Can you please create a list of Scottish grounds still in use that used to host Scottish league football. I don't even know where to start? Are games still played at Cathkin Park? Been there are its very atmospheric. The criteria is, it had to be an ex Scottish football league ground and it has to be still used, regardless of the standard of football, or cricket or rugby etc that is played there now. For reference this is the thread on the SMB; http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/ex-football-league-grounds-still-in-use.1291097/page-4#post-24259365

Great call that. Pretty sure when Scotland played in the one day cup in cricket they used this ground and my team Durham played there a few times. St Bernards playes at the Meadows but its pretty much a municipal park.

Was it the original pitch they used when they played in the Scottish league though?
invergowrie arab
No idea. There a number of pitches and open grass at the Meadows, no doubt reconfigured over the years, I reckon most defunct clubs would have their grounds demolished by now, Former league clubs who now play junior or lower leagues is best place to start. Vale of Leven's Millburn Park would fit the bill though as would Peebles Rovers Whitestone Park.

Meadowbank - Meadowbank Thistle and Edinburgh City Tannadice/Clepington - Dundee Wanderers and Dundee United Ibrox - Rangers and Rangers I cant be bothered working out the Airdrie permutations.
