Anyway, predictions? I'm saying 2-1, Clark and Paton for us. Dowie for them.

I never thought I'd say this but in Davie Hay's defence, I'm pretty sure Lyle's loan had been agreed by Jimmy Calderwood before he jumped ship to Aberdeen. 
 



I always thought it was Calderwood who took him to Dunfermline. I'm not one for remembering key details mind you. I'll say one thing though, I can recall Lyle returning a better player. His control had improved dramatically. So if he didn't get many games then Dunfermline must have had some very good coaches at the time.

Correct. Calderwood agreed the deal before sodding off to Pittodrie.
Thought Hay would've given him a chance though, especially when he went on to sign nonsense like Jesper Christiansen and Gjorgi Hristov.
