Polling: 2017 General Election, Council Elections and Independence

Recommended Posts

Think we'll be having a general election soon if that trend continues for another week or two and the scary thing is that Corbyn being so dubious on Brexit will probably split the Remain vote between Labour and the Lib Dems more than the Leave vote could wind up being split between the Tories and the Brexit party.

With the brexit party being tories anyway. They'll just urge all of their brexiteer sheep to vote Tory instead which they will duly oblige. As the lib dems (as always) are in it for themselves, they'll make no such sacrifice creating a remain split.

Genuinely hope he calls it off the back of a new leader bounce it’s socialism or barbarism and you would hope a resounding Boris victory would finally force another referendum or Corbyn would do better than 2017.

I think he will go for Brexit first then an election. There is no way to stop us leaving if Boris holds his nerve and even if he loses a confidence vote he can just schedule the election in November.

The upside of doing that is that the Brexit Party disappears and rebel Tories become an irrelevance. It's also 100% guaranteed that the Labour rats and the greater Meltdom will blame Corbyn for Brexit and massively undermine him during the campaign.

Best case scenario is 1945 where Boris is Churchill who thinks he's won the war but loses and Jezza is Atlee who is trusted to build something new.

Farage has done his job....he's pushed the Tories to the right of UKIP.

Once the Brexit party are destroyed in the upcoming GE, Farage will amazingly become part of Johnson's inner circle.

A new Welsh Political Barometer poll by @YouGov will be published tomorrow by @ITVWales The results go well beyond ‘gosh’ territory, or even ‘blimey’: by some way the most dramatic poll I have ever analysed. And in some respects a genuinely historic poll for Welsh politics.
