Polling: 2017 General Election, Council Elections and Independence

Recommended Posts

Think I read that the seat breakdown projected from the scotsman poll is SNP being 1 short of a majority but the Greens increasing their seats to 10 so a larger pro Independence majority in the Parliament than there is now.

Lovely stuff.

A Hibs mate of mine who's a catholic got charged under the old sectarian hate speech laws for singing the Billy Boys with me and some other mates about 10 years back. 😂

Well done. You must be so proud of that.

Still awaiting an apology on the Boris thread for you calling me an idiot whilst simultaneously being wrong on the issue I raised, you seemed to stop replying when I pointed this out.

Who feels pride over a night out? 😂

Oooft. If that was the actual outcome that would be wanking material for big Bojo.

On the other hand YG has it at 52 and 48 for constituency and list vs. 45 and 40 for ComRes

Guest Bob Mahelp

I would be truly stunned if the SNP were to win a majority of seats. I would have been stunned 6 months ago but even more so now given the saturated negative press that they're getting.

My guess....based on no factual evidence at all....is that we'll see pretty much exactly the same make up in the Scottish parliament in May, as we have just now.

And on we'll go.

I don't see the ISP given as an option on the 'List' vote.   Is this just poor polling or because they're unlikely to gain more than 1 or 2 percent?
If the ISP & AFI plus whichever other pro-indy pop-up candidates/parties running on the list get more than 1% of the list vote combined they will have done well.

All of them are a complete wasted vote in May more likely to cost the SNP or Greens list seats than any of the unionist parties.

That will increase in a hysterical fashion right up to May, most of it is Goebellesque type propaganda.

Even today at FMQ'S the Blurt was hammering on in her questions on the legal advice pertaining to the Salmond case, it's now history but she seems to think there is still some life in it.

Sarwar meanwhile asked the question about waiting times for cancer diagnosis.

Seems like he is now distancing himself from the tories on the Sturgeon/Salmond non event and has decided to ask questions which the public is more interested in.

Clever move.

ISP are the new RISE...in-fact they're not even to going to reach the numbers of RISE.  They're a group who seem to have absolutely convinced themselves that they matter and are actually going to get somewhere when in-fact they're a fantasy that lives in the minds of their members and a small group of UDI-demanding, trans-hating, Twibbon-pictured Twitter weirdos.  There's absolutely no chance of them getting anyone elected and I'll be staggered if they even manage to win more than a 1,000 votes nationwide.

Now's a good time for places like The National to start boosting poll obsessives like John Curtice with their take that only an SNP majority is a mandate for independence. Can't see that backfiring in May.

Please tell me AFI doesn't stand for "Alternative for Independence".

Do you live in Glasgow?
I find it utterly unbelievable that you don't know any Unionists that support teams other than Rangers, do you only socialise with Rangers fans?
Have you ever been to Edinburgh? [emoji23]

Yes, I do live in Glasgow (or just outside) as can be seen from my profile.

My social circle therefore has a significant amount of Rangers fans in it, and I stand 100% behind my comments. I find it pathetic the amount of people who base their politics on the team they support.

I have been to Edinburgh many times, but amazingly, I don’t walk up to randoms in the street and ask them about their football team and their politics.

You can stand my your comments all you want but if you're seriously trying to say that anecdotally you don't know one single Unionist that isn't a Rangers fan and use that to a further a point then you're pissing against the winds of reality.

Just out of interest, what team do you support?

The champions of Scotland, I'm also a Unionist not sure how this relates to you not knowing any Unionists that aren't Rangers fans, I mean there's a fair handful on here that aren't Rangers fans.
