Gaz FFC
Nice of Jack to gift his big team 6 points and help us avoid the playoffs before he left. #goodcunt
RiG
Surprising, if he wasn't tempted by Ipswich what would Sunderland have to offer him that would make him jump ship apart from money?
MrDust
Massive club but a bit of a headfuk of a club in the last 10 or so years. A bit of a shitter for St Mirren as we know a wrong appointment will see the top 6 expectations drop all seriousness, feel for you all with that bombshell, not a great day for you all
paisleysaints
Thought we had a slight chance of hanging onto him obviously Sunderland are a big club, gutted all the best to him but we need to get something sorted asap, As it would've just been one club after another all summer long

If he gets it right at Sunderland, they will bypass Ipswich for ambition......tho as said its a clusterfuk of a club in recent years

Sunderland surely can't get relegated again. League One down south is dreadful. If he gets them promoted, then he'll be treated like royalty, even though there's very little chance of them struggling. No lose situation, unless the situation is even more dire than it appears.

Think you've answered your own question - can't see him being on any less than £15-20k a week there. Their budget will dwarf their competitors in that league next season and barring an absolute catastrophe, it'll be another promotion on an increasingly impressive CV for Ross. Aye that's what I'm thinking really. More cash and surely, unless he fucks up, they should scoosh the league next season. If he does go I dread to think of the suggested replacements for Saint Mirren from the usual circle of no hopers (Hughes etc.)

badgerthewitness
I think his lack of experience at international level, either as a player or manager, meant he was never going to be a favourite for a Championship role. Good for him, a chance to really prove himself.
harry94
I think he's dodged a bullet by not going to Ipswich tbh. They've got a minuscule budget in the Championship and seem to have big expectations. Mick McCarthy was doing a really good job, I think they are going to struggle now tbh. Don't know if Sunderland have properly cleared the decks but if this Texan guy is competent and giving him an adequate budget (which should really be well in excess of the rest of the league), he's in a really good position to rebuild a big English club from the bottom up and he's certainly astute enough to do the job really well IMO.
P475
Unlucky guys. It's alway shite when you lose a gaffer, and can only hope the players respond and respect the next one.

Maybe got tired of them waiting to make their minds up. Location maybe helps a bit too as Sunderland is much closer to home.
