It will be interesting to see what type of reaction he gets from the fans for his first game in Paisley 🤔

Him and his agent have just messed the club about since the original contract offer was on the table last December.

I’m not really bothered about him leaving as I’d rather see a player who is more committed to the cause. Space for another player on the wage bill, we move on.

Pisser losing him to another team in the league but hey ho, even if he came back now he'd have done so with little or no goodwill from fans who accepted his decision to wait until the end of the season to decide but dragged it out a further 6 weeks beyond that.

Bit of a strange one. Relations with Goodwin / the club maybe turned a bit sour with the contract being on the table for so long.

I liked him: a tidy footballer, good at keeping possession. McGrath, Erhahon, JDH in the middle of the park did leave us looking lightweight at times though. Would rather have the experience and dig of Power for when the going gets tough.

Agents, doing agent things.

Used to get worked up about how long it took to sign folk etc., then you get a couple of public examples of how agents act behind the scenes, and you wonder how anyone ever gets signed at all.

Have to agree.

However, if Dylan Reid turns out to be as good a player as he's been made out to be, then maybe he won't be missed.

Time will tell with JDH. He started well for us, then fell off the boil and was average to meh at best. That could have coincided with him being asked at playing a deeper role in the midfield that he doesn't like or isn't keen on.
I feel if Utd have money issues, this is not that they have offered more cash (maybe they did though) maybe it's because signing with us again would mean playing that role again, where Utd are going to give him a free roam/more attacking role that he wants to play to show case his "talent".
The length of the time the contract was on the table was a joke. Is it a step up for him, not at all. I don't think we will miss him and I hope he plays shite against us!

I've made the point previously, but JDH literally didn't get signed last summer, which is why he ended up with us out of contract. His agent is, IMO, full of it, even by agent standards.

I hope we avoid using him in future.

Stranraer?
N.Ireland?
There hasn't been an announcement from the club with regards to any friendlies.
But well spotted. [emoji106][emoji102]
NI according to young Erhahons instagram story.

Annoying about JDH. Would rather he went down South.

Even an extra £100 a week for these guys can make a huge difference. I won't be booing him, can see why others will but don't see the point.

Oh god he is isn't he?

He'll try and move his players every summer for a pay day. Seems pretty hopeless at finding the promised pot of gold though, I doubt JDH had Dundee United in mind when he was sold on the dream. The players seem happy to go along with it though, must be  a master bullshitter.

Apparently he's Melamed's agent too.

He is. Melamed was desperate for a shot in English football, last we heard he's about to sign for a club in Israel (although that was a couple of weeks ago now, so maybe that hasn't materialised either).

I wouldn't take JDH moving on personally, it's this agents shtick. Tanser will be linked with all manner of clubs in December as contract talks are due to start and the cycle will begin all over again.

Is Clive really Doyle-Hayes' agent?

What a way to start the week.

Never has a man been so good at convincing his players will to move sideways. Almost as if there is something in it for him for his clients to move clubs...

JDH seems like someone who has continually been told he is a better player than he is and that he deserves much more money.

To be fair, I'm sure that it's a significant part of an agent's job nowadays to blow smoke up the arses of their clients. Something, sadly, that seems to be mirrored in many aspects of every day life.

He described Tanser as being the best attacking left back in the SPFL a couple of months back. Clive is very good at hyping up his players for the big move, only for it to not materialise.

JDH signed a contract with us and he honoured that contract. He owes us nothing further and I don’t blame him for holding out for more money.
We should have withdrawn that contract offer over a month ago IMO and released him. The fact it’s drawn on so long is down to us more than him.
Anyway, move on. Just twelve days till our first game of the season at Dumbarton. It’s important we get out that group so we really need to be wining that. Assume no more signings I think we will line up something like:
Alnwick
Fraser-Shaughnessy-McCarthy
Henderson-Erhahon-Power-McGrath-Tanser
Dennis-Brophy
Normally at this stage of the season we would be struggling to name a starting 11. At the moment we have plenty of top flight experience on the bench. Club is in a good place.

It is absolutely a money thing, when you compare the two sides; one of them has a rookie manager with a team in transition which off the field has been public about their financial worries meanwhile the boardroom seems to be run by chancers who care little for the fans, on the flip side is a team on the up with an experienced (and it's fair to say, somewhat handsome) manager not suffering financial worries or fuckwits in the boardroom.

If it was about football, he'd have stayed (or gone to a bigger club), but he hasn't he's definitely taken a step back other than (presumably) in terms of money.

You can check back through this thread and you'll see that I was never "wow'ed" by JDH, decent yes... but not to the level others seem to have praised him. Useful to have in the squad and I'm sure he'll improve over the years, but certainly not worth breaking any wage structure.

Obviously from United's point of view it's clear they are panicking already and splashing the cash. Maybe they hope to recoup that from selling Shankland, who knows.
