Why are the Funsters so desperate for us to share their new (yet to be built) stadium given they have a trillionaire owner?

They have always got to have someone else to blame for their clusterfucks, it's never their fault, when the arse falls outa their sad wee world again they need to point the finger at somebody. That somebody will be us for sharing their stadium and somehow upsetting the aura .................

Our stadium fits our needs there is a creible plan to fill in two corners which will give the stadium a much better look it is going to happen. Livingstone is a nice stadium but a bit like Kilmarnock way too big for their needs like the fake Saints also. The question I would ask is who is paying for the new stadium with an out lay of over 12 million how is it expected to recoup the cash not saying it won' happen but this is the age where banks keep well away from football investment.

I hope your stadium improves but it has no place in Scottish football society in its current form.

Dundee's owners are rolling in it, hence why they are pleading for more fans to turn up. I get the feeling the got confused and purchased the wrong club. Thank God for that.

Are you referring to Dundee's new stadium? We have Billionaire American owners who specialise in property. The stadium won't just be a stadium, they plan on building a training complex, a crematorium, an extension onto Dundee ice arena, hotels, a housing development consisting of 70 flats and 140 houses, a gym, a creche, a curling rink and 1000 parking spaces.

It's all part of the one model - the stadium is just a front for them expanding into the local area.

Why don't they just build all the profit making bits and not the black hole bits like football stadiums and ice rinks?

Are there any more recent plans or drawings of the proposed new stadium? I've only ever seen that early plan view of the whole development, with what looks like a Livi-style ground.

I wouldn't be against groundsharing in the future but hopefully not somewhere that looks like Broadwood. They know how to make decent wee stadiums in Norway for sensible money, like Molde's 12k seater which was apparently around £20 million.

It seems like we'll get news in the next few weeks about starting the actual application process and maybe starting to get a better idea about dates so I think we'll get some of the artists impressions soon. Rumour has it that Rotherham is the major influence for the ground but they've moved away from the bowl concept because of cost. Standing in the corners is looking likely.

Capacity is maybe a bit big (just under 15k) to try and set it up as a venue so that's my one big apprehension with design.

The curling thing is in planned partnership with the council/owners of DIA/government (delete as appropriate).

I know.

Every aspect of the ice rink apart from the three hours a week October to March when ice hockey is played loses money. Why would anyone want to expand upon that?

Why do they need a "front" to develop property in the city when there are at least half a dozen sites across the city where this could be done tomorrow.

I don't have an angle or theory on any of this.I just genuinely don't understand where the return on investment in a stadium is.

Please stop asking sensible questions.  I am enjoying all the bullshit and intrigue.

Judging by the cost of being dragged by taking the Mrs to see Elton John recently, I reckon if they get him to play there once every ten years they're onto a winner.

They're not looking for a return on the stadium itself. It'll be something that attracts people to the area and satisfy the other businesses in the area thus being able to charge higher rent etc. They also describe Dens as a noose around Dundee's neck in which they are currently paying circa 250k in rent per year and a further 250k just on general upkeep.

I'm not saying this as a 'deluded Dee', because even the best intentioned plans may not transpire, I'm just relaying the info.

Needs a big f**k off Belsen chimney for the cremmie, and a Monorail.

Sounds good mate but hard capital in today's market is not an easy thing to raise. You do say they are rolling in it I can' t  say there not , however they came into buy Saints first  due diligence was carried out by our last board in turn they were knocked back as such our old board lost out on a bigger pay off ? I'm not saying it won't but our old board are Saints die hards so I'm curious. Dundee is the most improved place in Scotland so maybe it is kosher. But make sure this is scrutinised by a fans organization play wise and safe.

We've handed the keys to them. Fan ownership wasn't working for us. We probably could just about muster the strength to save the club again but if I was a betting man and our board did turn out to be schysters, then I'd suggest we are fucked.

The only positive thing is they've ran our club extremely well over the past few years and plugged all the losses. That's not to say they can't and won't leave us up shit creek eventually, but thus far (And it's been almost 5 year now) they've done the business which is a longer period of stability than we've had in my lifetime.
