Bohemian
Won't get ahead of myself and think about Zenith, but if I did, f**k.
Zing.
McGinn heading down for signing talks with Aston Villa. £4m is the rumoured deal.
The Grass Is Greener.
Wouldn’t be a bad move for him. Good fee for us. Lets hope we have a replacement in mind. Wouldn’t be surprised to see decent money spend on a new CM if the right one became available.
Bohemian
Watched Villa tonight, pretty average. 4 Million is decent, hope we have someone decent lined up.
Zing.
Will be gutted to see him leave. Best player we’ve had at the club for years. It sounds like a very good deal for the club and a good move for him. Also leaves us plenty time to get more players signed with the cash, obviously dependant on him agreeing terms. It's excellent business. Can't wait to see what we do with our £75k cut.

Green Day
Going to be funny listening to Chic Young bleating about clubs holding St Mirren to ransom on transfers due to the fictitious "33% cut" of the mega fee
BawWatchin
2007: 4.4 million for Scott Brown to Celtic 2018: 4 million for Super John McGinn to Aston Villa Scottish football really is heading for the doldrums.
Silvio
Nice work Villa. We have safe standing and corners to fill in so get moving.

Brown fee went that high because Celtic and the pre-armageddon **** were in a bidding war. A few months beforehand, the media were trying to punt Brown and Kevin Thomson (as a pair) for £3M. I'm also not sure if this Villa bid will materialise. It depends if McGinn wants to go there. He's not shown much interest in Championship teams so far, although obviously Villa have more history / pedigree than most in that division. And possibly more money, as they were recently taken over by new owners.

JamesM82
Agyepong (the City loanee who needed a work permit) has been listed on UEFA.com as a Hibs player. https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2019/clubs/club=52821/squad/

Great stuff - you have just been awarded the contract and we can spend the rest on players. Head South John, you know it makes sense.

I think he'd be daft not to go, he will be a starter right away there and they new owners are billionaires who will be wanting to get back into the Premiership right away. Playing in a better league with the chance to get to the premiership at a club who will be targeting that.
ShrooTheLookingGlass
Would any midfielders in Scotland be realistic targets to (potentially) fill the hole left by McGinn and Dylan? Kamara, Campbell and Magennis are all highly rated but have a feeling their clubs will be wanting more than we will pay...

Short term I'd see zero reason to not go for Mulumbu. Think Kamara is out of contract next season so he's maybe plausible. If we end up getting a good fee for Mcginn with St Mirren scooping up a hefty sell on percentage that can only help to make other sides be more willing to sell to Hibs. We will have demonstrated that we're in a financial position to demand a high fee.
Tartan Dave
Non hibs fan but came on to suggest Campbell would be a good replacement but see it’s already been suggested. Him and a wildcard then put rest of funds into club would be my thinking
