SCOTTISH FOOTBALL PYRAMID

Following the decision of the Lowland League & East of Scotland League not to support the recommendations of the Pyramid Working Group, for the Scottish Junior FA to Join the Pyramid System, Auchinleck Talbot FC wish to confirm that we will support the SJFA in their efforts to find a solution to this matter.

In the meantime ATFC will continue to work towards achieving Club Licensing in preparation for any possible future changes to the structure of our game, we can assure our fans that they will be kept informed at the earliest opportunity of developments, and that we will consult with them before any decision is made on the future of the club."

Oh feck.

Another 50 pages before midnight???

Ffs - if that’s the response of one of the best run junior clubs in the west we’re all fucked

TAJ probably wrote it for them.

"Recommendations of the Pyramid Working Group"  what recommendations?  also a liberal dose of pathetic finger pointing, and no mention of the fact that the WRJFA could have been in for this season, or that the SJFA were not prepared to compromise on the "all-in or none in" position.

Mind you, it's not designed for this audience, it's to fool clubs into thinking there's still a chance of "all-in".

What is the level of entry they would find acceptable?

Tbh, I learnt quite a bit by reading some pyramid discussions. I never realised for example that both Peterhead and Elgin play all their home games on Tuesday nights.

They do, hence why neither have signed Messi as there's doubts about whether he could do it on a rainy Tuesday night in Peterheid.

Just in case anyone doesn't get what's happening by now what they are probably referring to was the directive from the SFA board to faciltate SJFA entry. There is no solution to be had on that. The EoS and LL are opposed, and the SFA have walked away from the PWG process.

The EOS and LL were never opposed to the west entering the pyramid though, the fact that that hasn't happened is entirely down to the SJFA. Talbot just seem to stick their head in the sand...

Not surprised by the Talbot statement. Pleased they have mentioned consulting the fans but to even consider supporting the SJFA in anything is beyond me. Talbot have been the major contributors in raising the profile of the SJFA as, frankly, the SJFA couldn't find their bahookey with both hands!

Think the club have showed their class, and refusing to be drawn into mud slinging on social media.

The club literally posted a statement on Facebook blaming other leagues for not supporting a fictitious PWG recommendation.

Tier 4 - too many midweek games away to Elgin, tickets will go up to £15

Tier 5 - too many Uni teams, groundsharers and clubs with no fans, would be too good for the league anyway

Tier 6 - we're better than this, don't want to go and play teams in D & G, need to spend money on floodlights
