City v City ?

Only one City that counts mate...
In saying that I really hope that Stoke stay up despite the Brexit connotations. Passionate supporters and a cracking atmosphere when Stoke play well.
Great stadium too, even though it feels as open and freezing as TFS in winter due to its location.

Think silva might hold out for the everton gig. Although a manager who has his sides actually attacking, instead of the sidewards passing and defending well, would be perfect for a club like Southampton right now.

Up to Sky what they do think they will be trying to feel the mood and maybe bring him back next season. Pretty disgusting but for me drink driving is much worse and dangerous and the way that is reported is just seen as nothing and doubt they would even suspend a presenter for that in fact folk would just have a laugh about it.  The visuals of this is really nasty and probably a clause in his deal they can get rid of him for something like this so can't really complain but surely Georgie Thomson and Jim White behavior was far more dangerous.

Mental that clubs continue to go for dross like Hughes, Pardew, Moyes etc. and then seem surprised that their teams don't seem to get any better. Who the f**k thought that Pardew would turn West Brom around?! In a years time he'll be getting touted for another job in the Premier League because of the apparent obsession with getting in a "safe pair of hands" - translation, duffers - like him rather than take a risk on someone in the Championship or from somewhere else.

Southampton have been pretty good with their managerial appointments in the last few years - Adkins took them up back into the Premiership, Pochettino is obviously a top class manager, Koeman had them finishing 6th and 7th and to a cup final and Puel had them solid in 8th.  Be pretty disappointing if they went to the merry-go-round of useless losers.

Marco Silva being out of a job has probably made a few teams get itchy trigger fingers

To be fair, Pardew usually does very well when he arrives before taking a huge nosedive later.  Guess WBA thought they could ride that wave to the end of the season and then go from there.

Kind of backfired though.

It's just the usual "sources" nonsense and the obvious list of ex-EPL managers who are free agents.

It's just surprising that the un-named hack who wrote that lazy crap forgot to include "Arry who lives down the road in Poole.

Bit of a generalism really. Southampton are in the shit because they tried someone from somewhere else.  So did Palace and they had to bring in the old guard to clear the mess up. Everton gave a first managerial shot to their much vaunted U-23 manager and it was more of a disaster than the guy from somewhere else that set the whole mess up in the first place so had to resort to the old guard. Bottom line is there is generally a reason some names keep getting jobs. As with any appointment, new face or old, some will work, some will fail and some will just blandly tick over.

Think they said on talksport maybe that pulis, hodgson, Allardyce and pardew had all managed the clubs that the others had been at. It was like one big merry go round at palace and west brom.

Hughes might not give them the new manager bounce given their fixture list. He will probably do what he always does, have a no bad start, then just fade away. Will be interesting to see (if they go down) if hughes decided to stay and fight his way out of the championship.
