The "Scots should be embarrassed for sh*teing it" chat is a bit silly. Had the SNP organised their own referendum, and the UK government responded by deploying English and Welsh police officers and army regiments to batter the sh*t out of folk in Scottish cities, then we could compare things. And I think we'd probably have a similar UDI scenario. Equally, we don't know what the outcome would have been if Catalunya had been allowed a legal vote in the first place.
