Wow...

I think the fact that 7 times as many women claim to have this mystery condition tells you everything you need to know.

Did you spend a lot of time with banana when you were on holiday?

I love the Mailesque idea that you can make up an illness and the government chucks some cash at you. Those c***s don't even take the word of consultant doctors, but bring in their own "outside experts" (administrators with a nursing background) to see what they can get away with make sure your diagnosis is correct.

Anyway, Romeo - which fibro warrior in your family did you grow up resenting?

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2009 after spending about 18 months in what felt like constant pain and knackerdness.

Took about 6 months after being diagnosed for them to get my medication right though, but thankfully that along with balanced exercise, some physio, a bit of accupunctre and a job where I am walking about a lot has kept it under control.

My biggest problem is sitting still for too long (a long drive is a no go these days, have to stretch my arms and legs every hour or so)

Know loads of people who now 'have' the condition, but a few of them are at it to try and pack in work. One lassie I know hobbles about on walking sticks all week then posts loads of pics on facebook of her dancing the night away before spending all of Sunday on some random blokes cock before repeating the sequence all over again

Recently in the Annoying things people write on facebook thread someone shared a post from someone complaining that a delivery driver wouldn't carry her shopping up a flight of stairs, complaining she couldn't because of her fibromyalgia. As is the case in that thread we all had a chuckle, and I looked it up because I'd never heard of it. From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia

Causes: Unknown
Treatment: Sufficient sleep and exercise, healthy diet

Hmm

Ah yes. Wikipedia, that well known infallible resource. In all fairness I think we all expect Romeo to desperately troll a thread for days, and we expect JLD to be a bit simple.

I've dealt with a fair few folk with the condition. The argument that you can claim to have it then get disability benefits is laughably stupid. Firstly almost any GP will refer someone with the symptoms to the new nearest Pain Specialist for more detailed diagnosis and treatment.

Yes, a few folk will try it on and claim they have it when they don't, but they're sifted out pretty quickly and get f**k all. Indeed anyone thick enough to believe claiming Fybromyalgia is an instant path to PIP and/or ESA would probably qualify for benefits under some sort of learning disability.

Loving the general castigation of folk for putting on weight when simple movement causes them crippling pain

Some of them are addicted to painkillers too. Bunch of junkie wasters.
