well, it'll be those you never heard of plus the odd player you wish you hadn't but here goes!

GK: Alan "Babsy" Mackintosh: A Definite City legend. First signed in 1995 and apart from a short spell at Leith Athletic, has been here ever since as player and coach. Hero of our penalty shoot-out win over the Shire in 1997, he had a happy knack of saving spot-kicks.

Defence:

Tadg Moriarty: Had a bit of a temper to say the least but entertaining even when losing it. A class act on his day. On one memorable occasion at Galabank an Annan player was trying to wind up Tadg to see if he would bite. Tadj had his calm heid on that day- we were awarded a free kick 20 yards from goal and Tadg bent the ball Brazilian style into the top corner, turned to his would be tormenter and put his fingers to his lips in a "ssh" gesture.

Brian Foster: Not the quickest, daft as a brush but had the advantage of being over 6 foot which meant you could lump him up front when desperate measures were called for. A City cult hero, that's for sure.

Joe Mbu:

Kenny Ross: Played with his brother Robbie (who went to Arbroath for a wee while). A class act.

Midfield:

Andy Irving: "Slap" played with City, went to Cowden and came back to City. His ball skills were a delight to watch in my early days of watching City. Father of the current Berwick loanee and another City legend.

Tam "the bam" Nolan: A force of nature. Superbly gifted but a total bam. Legendary escapades include trying, with a team mate, to escape out of a bog window in an Edinburgh pub to avoid paying a taxi driver the fare from Kelso after he'd missed the team bus because he was pished and finding a fire extinguisher in Bankfoot's dressing room on a pre-season trip and proceeding to soak the then match secretary with it.

Scott Hunter: Midfield enforcer. Had won medals with Whitehill before coming to us and went on to win another East of Scotland League medal.

Jordan Caddow: Torn faced bugger on the pitch but he has an East of Scotland League winners' medal with City and two Lowland League medals and hasn't looked out of place in D2.

Strikers:

Chris "Dougie" Nye: Scored 35 goals one season and then unfortunately got injured otherwise we might have won more things than we did.

Ross Allum: If it wasn't for Rosco we wouldn't be where we are today. Miserable and bottom of D2. What a b*****d, eh?

Unlucky subs:

John Seeley: Cultured defender. Perhaps unlucky not to be in the First XI

Ian McFarland: Midfielder in the Scott Hunter mould and again, unlucky, not to be in the First XI.

Robert Holland: Bob is actually a lawyer but is mostly known for damage done to opposition players and a seemingly expensive dressing room door at Whitehill...

Ross MacNamara: Just because he scores goals with his arse. Another legend.

Andrew Stobie: A good back up to Babsy. Not quite so good at saving penalties but he had his moments.

Seething to get into the team:

Craig Sinclair: Ex-Cowden. Tough tackling midfielder who came from Gala and showed enough for Berwick to sign him where he suffered a bad injury.

Robbie Ross: Probably should be included, at least on the subs' bench. Prolific scorer.

Dennis Kennedy: Only had one season as he was at the veteran stage but an old fashioned, barrel chested centre forward who muscled past defenders. The Hot-Shot Hamish of City.

Bouke van der Meer: Ex Ajax youth who was a student in Edinburgh. Scored a cracking goal at Coldstream- received the ball on his right foot, flicked it up on to his left foot and bent the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

Mikey Pentland: unfortunate with injuries but Mikey led the bus karaoke on away trips. Club Entertainments Manager...

and many, many more. Sorry lads, bigger bribes next time!

That’s a good team

A lot  of steel  and creativity, and the townie slayers upfront

Going back a bit for Stenhousemuir I would suggest

GK - Stewart Kennedy. Great keeper who was transferred to Rangers and was capped for Scotland, unfortunately fell on his sword at Wembley.

RB - Alan Lawrence - signed as a forward when his Airdrie career ended but was quickly switched to full back. Confident and capable

LB - Euan Donaldson - record transfer when he was transferred to St Johnstone after being part of team which destroyed them in SC replay at Ochilview.

CB - Jim Thomson - solid and gifted defender who could read the game well only transferred after it was rumoured he was joining police. Played for queen of the South for many years afterwards. CB - Chris Innes - injuries meant he came into the team as a 17 year old and quickly grew in stature and confidence before he was transferred to Kilmarnock.

MF - Jimmy Fisher - loyal servant to the club who was given a testimonial, seldom gave less than 100%, not afraid to take defenders on.

MF - Eric Paton - Class at this level, was head and shoulders above everyone else and at times the others could not keep up with his talent and brain.

MF - John Paul McBride - Outstanding talent which unfortunately was totally wasted by an illness the player suffered from. Should have remained at a much higher level

MF - Jimmy Richardson - another loyal servant from a different era, uncompromising in the tackle and always composed and not afraid to mix it. I'm sure he scored 4 against Alloa one New Years game which ended 4-4.

CF - Miller Mathieson - towering forward who will always be remembered for his 70 yard run and goal against Dundee at Dens Park in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

CF - Kenny Millar - on loan striker from Hibs was 17 when he played for the Warriors and showed loads of potential of what was to come. Twice in 15 minutes rounded keeper and scored against Montrose in a midweek clash as their defenders could not handle his blistering pace.

Also considered:

Roddy McKenzie

Ray Dunlop

Michael Devlin

Archie Rose

Colin Cramb

Eamonn Bannon

Paul Hunter

Paul McMullen
