loch ness will surely need to improve some to be competitive in the NCL-saw them play and get pumped by one of the top Caithness sides in the Highland amateur cup last year and it was men against boys quite honestly

Bonar Bridge returned this year and lost every game they played. With a few double digit losses. I'm sure they'll have competition to finish bottom if they aren't up to much.

I saw Bunillidh Thistle play Inverness Athletic and I'm pretty sure a few Boys Brigade teams would have a fair chance against them.

RJ has a track record of posting what he thinks should happen or wants to happen as fact. Lewis (as in the island) being eager to enter the pyramid was a recent one.

The Lurker spends too much time speaking to himself in the mirror, and posting 'theories'  which he can't substantiate. Then,  at a later date, he contradicts himself., to  try to look clever. Tedious in the extreme.  Even Burniman has given up responding to his posts.

It  is obvious that LTL has no connections/contacts regarding the HFL/NCL, so my advice is, it is best to ignore him................ particularly on this forum.

As an aside, the SFA's AGM was held earlier today.

The other important angle is that a club would have to be licensed to be eligible for promotion, so in the short term this looks likely to be a case of dropping Fort William to the NCL and adding BoD from the north juniors depending on the number of clubs the HL wants to operate at. Think Golspie are likely to lose their licence over having no floodlights?

They don't have to be licenced.

^^^just so this post doesn't derail the thread because FWF always has to find some petty pedantic way to point score over my posts. Clubs will need to be licensed to play at tier 5 at the professional game board level under the single division format the HL is currently using.

Its not point scoring. Its pointing out a change in the HL rules from requiring the need to be full members of the SFA and floodlights at a level set by the HL board. Which has been changed to the above where there it is mentioned that you only need to be a Registered Member which acceptance into the HL provides.

Which was done in the summer 2019 and there has been no mention of a HL2. In fact they're talking about adding the NCL, not creating a second division.

Can you point out where it states that a team that plays at Tier 5 has to be licenced?

...and on and on as always.

You mentioned Robert James sometimes presents his opinion as fact over the issue of the SFA wanting the Highland League to be reduced to 16 teams. Which is a commonly heard rumour dating back to discussions around introducing the pyramid to Scottish Football. A rumour that has now public documentation to support it.

You're now on here saying you have to be licenced to compete at Tier 5. Where does it actually say that? Or has this been another rumour that has grown arms and legs over the years. Which I myself believed up until last year when there was genuine discussion over the introduction of ICT colts to the Highland League.

But that says "Approved at a SHFL AGM on 17 May 2010" at the bottom.

The 2018-19 rules (approved in 2016) say clubs must be full members of the SFA https://web.archive.org/web/20190608094741/http://highlandfootballleague.com/History/Item/SHFLConstitutionRules2018-19.pdf

This season's rules don't seem to be online.

Thanks for clearing that up before grand theories started to be built on the back of it in a similar way to what happened on here with the Club 42 Tay bridge boundary. The clue that something was amiss should have been in the history part of the url.

The news links are down too, it'll be a temporary thing. They've definitely changed some of the rules for this season, limit on loan players for one.

All the Highland League documents are stored in their history subsection of the website.

Needs a train line or ferry to gain access to the pyramid IMO, which taxpayers should be willing to supply.

Someone should inform Brechin of this.

Brechin don't need to "access the pyramid". At the moment.

Mind you, if Tom English got his way...
