Anybody know how many of the teams with lights own their own parks and installed the lights themselves, as opposed to having it done by local authorities?

Pretty sure Shippy did it themselves.

Another stand isn’t going to fix that TBF, given it’s apparently very close to a replica of the current stand and will still be outside the track. Leaving medowbank is the only choice, your never making that place suitable for pro or semi-pro football

Agree PFL

Took in a game there last November as neutral vs QoS,it was awful ............

Another stand would at least give it a bit of kudos but yeah agree it's not fit for purpose .

They can't do anything without City Of Edinburgh Council as they own the ground.

I was at that game v QOS in November and agree it was soulless

Guess the EoS angle to all the Edinburgh City stuff on this thread is Leith Athletic also playing there? it was obvious from the design of the new Meadownank "stadium" that Edinburgh City were being given a very heavy hint that their presence was not wanted. Think they missed an opportunity for a ground that might have worked out better for them when Tynecastle got the lease for Meggetland. Spartans, Edinburgh City and Bonnyrigg Rose is likely one too many part-time Edinburgh area teams for the SPFL long term and it looks like Tranent are intent on crashing the party. Wouldn't be surprised if Edinburgh City are in the EoS again in about a decade's time.

Midlothian football team 'gutted' after 'mindless youths' destroy dugout

A Midlothian football club has hit out at ‘mindless’ youths after they destroyed their dugout just weeks after the league season got underway. Arniston Rangers, a Midlothian team based in Gorebridge, took to social media to criticise the vandalism, saying they were "gutted".

The club shared a picture of the disgraceful act on social media, writing: "Just as we are starting to get the park up to league standard, this happens. Gutted to say the least." In pictures posted online show the plastic covering of the dugout - where the coaching staff and substite players sit during the game - with huge holes in them, seemingly punched through or destroyed by a heavy object.

It’s been done before,,,,

Dunbar United lease their ground and we’re led to believe that an almost six figure sum was invested by the Club for the benefit of the wider community in the erection of the recent stand.

There was some fundraising of course (my own hunner quid went into the stand fund :thumsup2) and East Lothian Council seem to be more sport focussed than Edinburgh City Council
