D.A.F.C
At least you admit you were dirty cheats who bought a league you couldn’t afford back in 2011. Not denying it at all. I don't think we ever paid for rustybits and Hardie loan deals.

RandomGuy.
What's the full story here? I see it mentioned on the "Let's all laugh" thread. When did he say it and what's the follow up? Someone got a snapchat of him saying "Mon the Celtic" on a night out. Rangers fans started seething, and have now convinced themselves he's actually saying "f**k the Celtic" (it sounds absolutely nothing like f**k the Celtic, fwiw) and are gloating about it. He then tweeted saying it had been edited and he actually said "be ready Celtic, we are coming for you", which one or two Rangers fans seem to have believed, while the rest demand his public flogging.

The fans also throw paper at the Progrès keeper and will eventually be fined by UEFA for this. 4th July 2017: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Rangers lose 2-0 to Progrès Niederkorn on the night and go out of the Europa League 2-1 on aggregate at the very first hurdle. This is the JFK moment of the Banter Years, everyone will remember where they were. An aspect to the Progres hilarity that I would factor in is that almost exactly a year ago to the day we had this: It's safe to imagine that, considering how little Rangers* fans have had to celebrate recently (what is it, 1 Challenge Cup and some lower league title wins while racking up operating losses in the millions every year?) and the relative success of Celtic that a sizeable chunk of their fanbase lorded it up over Celtic supporting friends/workmates/family when this happened. Worst ever Scottish, arguably British, result of all time in European football. Oh how we all laughed. Celtic would go through on aggregate after seeing them off comfortably at Parkhead, but the stink would never leave them. No British club would ever have such an embarrassingly poor one-off result again to spare Celtic's ignominy. And then... The Minertaur
2015-16 The Cups Promotion to the top flight was achieved but could Rangers finally win a Cup to bolster their trophy cabinet? The Challenge Cup A tough opening match away to Hibs - the two favourites for the cup against each other early doors. Rangers ran out 6-2 winners largely down to doubles from Waghorn and Miller. A 2-0 win away to Ayr was followed by a narrow 1-0 win at home to Livingston. The semi final saw St Mirren thumped 4-0 and it would set up a final with Peterhead. 2 years out of 3 Rangers had made the Challenge Cup final. The only other teams to have achieved this feat are Queen of the South (10/11 + 12/13), Ross County (06/07 + 08/09), Airdrie (00/01 + 01/02) along with Ayr and Hamilton back when the cup first started. A stunning 4-0 victory over the Blue Toon saw Rangers win their first cup since liquidation. Goals from Tavernier, Halliday, Miller and a Gilchrist (OG) the difference. Not many sides have won this cup so it was crucial for Rangers to join the illustrious list of previous winners including Alloa, Stranraer and Stenhousemuir. The League Cup Poor Peterhead were disposed of again by a 3-0 scoreline this time before Airdrie were brushed aside 5-0. Up next? Top flight side St Johnstone. The club revealed brand new motivational signs in and around the home dressing room to fire the home players up. Did they send the fans home happy? No. Goals from Murray Davidson, Simon Lappin and Gers-bound Michael O'Halloran saw the Saint cruise into a 3-0 lead just after half time. Tavenier would pull one back but it was the end of the scoring as Saint Johnstone secured their first win at Ibrox since November 2006. God knows when St Johnstone would next win 3-1 at Ibrox. Scottish Cup - What a fantastic run Rangers had in this cup! After narrowly and luckily beating Cowdenbeath 5-1 (we had them on the ropes for the first 2 minutes) they managed to knock out top flight Kilmarnock in a replay at Rugby Park. The first match at Ibrox was 0-0 before Nicky Clark scored a last minute winner to seal a 2-1 win in the return match. Next up was a tricky tie at home to Dundee. The Dee starting with Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings were expected to prevail but a goal after 13 seconds saw the away side collapse. Forrester scored that goal before Holt, Halliday and Wallace completed the 4-0 win. CELTIC in the semis! A 2-2 draw saw the match get decided by penalties.... Tom Rogic missing the decisive penalty which meant it would be Hibs v Rangers in the final. You don't need me to tell you about the match so let's just see the photos. 1-0 Hibs! Stokes 1-1 - Miller 2-1 Rangers! Halliday 2-2! Stokes again. 2-2 as stoppage time began. Hibs win a corner which Liam Henderson takes. David Gray meets it with a stunning header... The Guardians live text describing the moment as - Quote 90+5 min: The scenes of celebration there were proper, limbs everywhere, writhing, delirious stuff. They’re seconds away... There was of course a jolly good old-fashioned pitch invasion after the full time whistle. 114 years after last winning the Scottish Cup - finally another Hibs captain holds aloft the famous trophy. So it was to just be a double for Rangers this season. The league was won easily enough and their Challenge Cup will go down in history as one of the greatest achievements. How would they cope back in the top flight? Edited December 18, 2017 by The Minertaur
