Looks like Tommy Burns.

Yay! Winner.

The match was Andy Nicol's testimonial in 1988. Souness and Dalglish also turned out for the Bairns.

Its not formal,   it's simply anglicisation that occurred as they couldn't comprehend the idea of county's that didn't end in shire so they just forced it onto places that never were named as such, thankfully binned and being the glorious kingdom is the current naming,

Indeed. Strange 19th century episode which also gave us Forfarshire, Haddingtonshire and Linlithgowshire.

And Scotland became North Britain - not very popular. I recall reading that disgruntled post office employees would redirect any mail addressed to "N.B." to New Brunswick. It would take months to make its way to the intended recipient.

Early 1990s with the new floodlights and new badge on the stand gable end

I don't know if it was the first game under those lights but Partick played Meadowbank in a midweek game when they had just been installed and I remember being impressed by their brightness.

Half a century ago tomorrow Clarkston played American club Willingboro Apaches... at Hampden.

No idea why and found no details.

Programme just gives teamlists and team photos.

Anybody?

I've got a copy... literally only 4 pages with p2 & p3 being a photo + teamlist for each side (not a scrap of text) and p4 being blank except heading "Autographs". So no clue about tie's significance.

What is apparently the last-ever football game on Ayr Dam Park tomorrow as Whitletts Victoria host St Rochs.

Hosted some Ayr Utd games in LC in 1970s... reserves + friendlies more recently IIRC.

EDIT: unusual fact - it also hosted Womens Champions League games in 2001-02, deputising for Toulouse after a fertiliser factory exploded :o.

Were there ever any minor internationals held?

EDIT: worth saying Quinn survived his ordeal, and went on to become head groundsman at Parkhead. He later served as club trainer from 1930 to 1932 before returning to his groundkeeping.
