I'm getting a bit concerned that McGinty hasn't signed yet 😂

Patience my friend, patience.

All good things come to those who wait.

It’s an open forum unfortunately m5.

Trying to prove that your squad hasn’t been weakened 2 seasons in a row needs called out for the shite that it is I’m afraid.

I'm still not seeing where this is the case.  'On paper' you were weaker than Hearts, Dundee, Raith, Dunfermline and The Caley.  Like I said before, your squad has gotten gradually weaker in the last 2 seasons since Shankland etc left.  In 2018/19 you definitely had a top half squad, this season, definitely not.

On paper we had a better squad than Raith for sure. Sadly I have to agree that we’ve got weaker each season since then, and we’ll probably be weaker yet again this upcoming season

Noticed on the Europa League coverage last night that Villarreal are from a town of just 50,000 people. Smaller than Ayr. Raises the bar for what we should be achieving quite significantly!

Ayr has a smaller population than 50,000, but yes I thought the same thing when they mentioned it, that a team of similar size to Ayr could get to a European cup final

Were we not paying more in wages for chalmers, baird and walsh though?

Yes they turned out to be shitebags - but the chat around the forum was that we'd made some really good signings.

We were never going to replace shankland, and so the drop off in that individual position is massive. But i don't think the club was cutting back last summer (although could be wrong).

Needs to be September I think to allow a decent away support at any of the 2 grounds

I must be in the minority  but I really couldn’t care less about away fans this season. I just want our full quota of fans to be able to attend Somerset

Games are simply not the same without away fans.

I agree, but 25 in the far end of the main stand most weeks isn’t going to me that big of a miss. There were only 3-4 teams that the away end was open for.
the biggest hit will be for the folk that like away days.
be interesting how the club did on the balance of away gates vs away streams purchased
