I don’t think people realise how utterly ridiculous it is to suggest that the club have made the conscious decision not to play our best player in our biggest game just in case he gets injured. What’s going to happen next season if we have another prolific striker and we get into this position? We just rest him and sacrifice a chance at promotion again? 
 

I don’t understand why football fans and conspiracy theories have suddenly started going hand in hand. It’s mental.

Our financial peril is always reported a to be a lot worse than it is and is often wishful thinking from both journalists and fans of other clubs alike.

Our chairman is a pretty wealthy property developer based in Dundee but he doesn't really put much into the club.  Enough to keep us alive but we're never going to 'go for it' and pay boys Premiership wages to sign for us and get us back to the Premiership.

Right but no one at Ayr didn’t want to go up. 
 

I can fully see why fans would have the mindset that promotion can come too early though. It’s not a given that you are in a better position after relegation back from the Premiership.
 

The point is that the club are going about trying to achieve promotion in the right way for a club of our size. It will take a couple more seasons imo.

The club will probably want to give the fans one last chance at seeing him so if he’s no involved then he’ll be paraded round at half time or some pish like this.

This season was the best chance we'll ever have imo. League is likely to be much tougher next year so can see a mid table finish at best next season.

Bullen will likely be away after Friday so we'll be scrambling around for a new head coach. Hopefully that doesn't cause too much of an issue with recruitment.

We’ve got guys in place that should still be working on new players and Mathie offers a certain degree of continuity in terms of getting players in as well. 
 

If Bullen leaves after Friday then you’d think we’d have someone in for June 12th at the very latest.
