He rarely loses possession, covers a lot of ground, can carry the ball forward and chips in with a few goals. He does the basics well which is what you want from a central midfielder at this level. I think Syla is too inconsistent to be relied upon and as much as I like McHugh, his fitness is a bit of a worry. I would be happy with him starting next to a deeper ball playing style central midfielder, as I think it would complement him well. Maybe a wee bit lightweight but he’s up there this season for assists at Airdrie. I agree that we should at least ask McInroy if he’d come back.
