There will be huge question marks over his fitness but if that isn’t an issue then it’s as good a signing as you can make at this level. Should be fine playing in behind Dipo.

No issue with fitness , he showed up well on the  fitness test today

Had to google him because I have no memory of him at all.

From his career he looks a bit of a misfit, Doesn't stay at clubs for long, not a prolific goal scorer. He may offer more as a forward than goal scoring though. Experienced and another option. Probably puts McKenzie and Ashford down the pecking order. Would have been at Wednesday with Bullen.

Not exciting but interesting.

I’d say, providing he is fit enough or can get up to speed quickly, that it’s definitely an exciting signing. Admittedly if you’ve not watched much English football you maybe won’t have seen as much of him, but unless he’s dropped off significantly in the last couple of years then he should be doing very well at our level.

Sharpness then. You’d imagine there will be some rustiness to shake off.

That’s the only thing he needs , trained all the way through the betting investigation and ban , Killie were showing interest  in signing him

Theres a reserve game tomorrow, hopefully he will feature in that and maybe a cameo off the bench on Fri 🤞

Unless he has had to go down South to tie anything up I would expect to see him tomorrow at Townhead along with Musonda getting game time

Bullen now hopefully ditching the one striker policy for good. It wasn’t a need that was overly talked about but when you look at it it could make a huge difference.

Chris Maguire waltzing in for 3 months and sending Ayr to Hampden and the Premiership would be some story.

Hopefully not an Alex Kenyon type. Signs short term signing because the window is shut and he hasn't played for months. Hopefully the Bullen link means he's not just signing to pick up a wage for 3 months.

He's 34 as well. if he was 28 or even 30 it might be more exciting. There are a few variables that mean it's not as simple as signing a former Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and Scotland forward. Kevin Kyle had a good pedigree.

It is interesting because no one knows how he will do and he has the potential to be a fantastic signing, A. for the team and B. for training alongside Bryden and McKenzie.

Kevin Kyle never had anything close to pedigree. Had a career because Jim Jeffries needed a target man type striker to make his tactics work.

Gold is great for your level, grey is "average", red is bad.

So aye, looks like hes becoming more of a creator than a goalscorer?

RG bozo prediction: You'll probably play him off Akinyemi and he'll naturally drift out wide/into midfield. He'll be outstanding in possession and a step above most, if not all, in the division when on the ball. You'll probably be disappointed how many goals he scores (this'll be quoted when he bags 15 in the next 3 months) but it'll be offset by the excitement and chances he creates. He'll be harder working off the ball than many will be thinking and might create chances by pressing hard and winning the ball high.

Sounds like a rich man’s Michael Moffat, and I would fucking love to see that.
