When Logan Chalmers signs how do we fit him, Murphy and Amartey into the same team?

They all won’t play every game anyway. Having one to come off the bench to try to change a game is something we missed massively last season.
Chalmers gets no change out a full back for an hour, Amartey comes on to run at him…makes a change from Ashford getting nothing so they bring on JML

Albinson

New RB Stanger McGinty Reading

Chalmers Murdoch Dempsey Murphy

Amartey Rose

Subs: Mutch, McAllister, Musonda, Ecrepont, Smith, Pendlebury, McGeady, Bryden, McKenzie

I would not be too disappointed with that as the squad.  Even a new striker coming in that would allow Bryden going out on loan, maybe Ecrepont replaced with a new left back. Possibly switch the 442 into a 4231 with Amartey and Murphy on the wings and allowing Chalmers a free role off of Rose.

I suppose most of Thistle business had been loan deals hasn’t it? Whilst they’ll still be paying a percentage of the wages they’ll be saving a lot of money as well.

2 so far, soon to be 3. Wouldn’t be shocked if there’s more come the end of the window, obviously could be ramifications in January though if any of them are recalled.

Would stabilising after the takeover not be a better option than spending the way you are though.

I think Thistle currently have a competent, 2nd to 6th team and would be in no danger of going down.

You don’t put out a smouldering fire by continually putting more wood on it

Still need a team (about 10 players went out the door in the summer), Without obviously knowing the club’s accounts I would say it seems we’re spending fairly conservatively at the moment, at least in comparison to say last season. Things have maybe picked up in the last 2 weeks or so, but presuming McInroy signs, 3 our 6 signings will have been loans. Probably the more impressive thing the club has did recently is tying down existing players on longer contracts.

What we don't want is to have 4 top class wingers when only 2 can play at a time, while having League 1 and League 2 standard full backs as our starters and only kids as cover.

We’re still in need of a few players and we’ll be relying on a few younger boys this year, like it seems most teams will. We only have four out and out defenders (one for each position). Understand McInroy doesn’t fit the bill for that but we did lose two of our starters there.

We lost 9 senior players, a few of whom were backups on high wages, have signed less than that and promoted a couple of youth players (albeit we've paid for contract extensions and might have one or two more in).

We're also due unbudgeted money from solidarity payments for Nisbet and Hendry, have had a tv match in the league cup as well as further income for getting out the groups, sold stadium naming rights and more season tickets than in recent memory as well as donations from TJF.

Wyre stadium at Firhill, it's shite but everyone still calls it Firhill apart from those who are contractually bound to use the brand name.

Don't know on cash but it's another income source we didn't previously have prior to the summer.

Adeloye was on peanuts with us and was a total ballache around the club. I’d guess that Thistle are picking up a % of his wage just to get him away from his club.

That’s usually how it works, yeah.

Disappointed to find this thread "hot" but it's just people talking about Partick Thistle.

You can start talking about what you’re having for dinner again soon enough.

Henk van Shaik putting in one of the most hilarious defensive displays I’ve seen at Somerset. Made a 34 year old Moffat look ten years younger.

Freed just a few weeks later despite paying a fee to take him from Livi that summer.
