Ah, thought you stayed down this way.  Never mind, have a few pints, get to the Bay and order a mushroom supper, get a can of Tennents and sit looking over the North Sea.

No, I’ve managed to escape the Kingdom. Quite the picture painted, minus the mushrooms.

I'm intrigued/repulsed by a 'mushroom supper'.

Is it a bhaji, pakora or deep fried breaded garlic mushrooms?

Tis neither a bhaji nor a pakora and let never a clove of garlic enter the fray.

Its mushrooms (big ones, typically closed cup, not buttons) deep fried in chip shop batter.

sjc was right in saying tempura is close.

Tempura batter is about a million times lighter than chippy batter.

Would try it if you ever offered me one, just out of curiosity.

The word 'chipper' is used by the ones that the ones for the watching watch out for.............

The Hilton Fish Bar has always been my mainstay in Aberdeen. It shut for a while due to some unpaid tax or the like but has re-opened and still does a fabulous fish supper.

I'm glad fish suppers are still fabulous from the re-opened Hilton Fish bar. Will need to get back in there.

Heard the previous owner did a bunk due to gambling debts,

Usually find any chippy that sells Kebabs do utterly shite chips.

I shan't include Pizza in this as I had a lovely Pizza Crunch out the Chip shop in Dingwall a while back. Top of the high street, forget the name, but it was excellent. In my top three Chip Shops.

Renatos.

Coai’s on Duke Street used to be excellent.

Jack McPhee used to be good. Granted the majority of times I went I was absolutely pished. They used to have different prices for after midnight to take advantage of all the pissheads, the c***s.
