There should be neutral doctors for games as they have at other sports.

Agreed. I wonder how much pressure there is on the doctors to clear players as fit? That said, they are professionals and as such, should be making sure the first thing they do is look after the health of the players.

Football needs to introduce HIAs as soon as possible. It's such a simple thing to do, given the amount of protection it offers to players and medical staff.

Temporary substitutions are needed for HIAs to work, otherwise teams will just continue to ignore player welfare so they aren't playing with 10 men. It's not rocket science, make it so that if a player doesn't come back on within 10 or 15 minutes for blood or a head injury then the replacement is permanent. If all three subs are used then only subbed players can come back on.

It looked like someone on the Ajax bench was trying to tell the ref he was done. Ref comes over looks at him then asks the Tottenham doctor if he cleared him.

Not much the ref can do there. He has to assume the Tottenham doctor isn't corrupt and unwilling to endanger their patient. Not a good look for Spurs.

Think the ref just went over to the Ajax manager to tell him why he stopped the game, looked like the fourth official did a great job to call the referee over instead of just telling the ref he was fine to come back on.

This is why you can't trust players, and you can't trust doctors who haven't done a proper HIA for 10 minutes with the players to decide if they are ok to continue.

Mental to think Dortmund got pumped 4-0 by this shower of London b*****ds.

That’s football for you. Can’t judge teams and leagues on 45 / 90 minutes.

That Ajax keeper appears to be properly two footed. I'm sure he hoofed a goal kick with his right foot earlier and now he's biffing passbacks fkin miles with his left.

This concludes my expert tactical analysis.
