Was swithering about whether this was a real account or someone doing an ironic bear and now thinking it's the latter.

I wasn’t sure, thought it might be the @Stormzy thing where they are a unionist Rangers fan but play it up to troll a bit, but now I’m with you that someone’s totally at it.

Thought this would already been on here. I don't know why it isn't big news that the UK government want every kid in every school in the UK to sing this bizarre North Korean-style anthem on 25 June.

Says a lot about how seriously the take this one nation thing that they don't even know the Scottish schools will have broken up for the summer by then.

This is just deeply, deeply disturbing, utter blood-and-soil nationalism.

Also great to see them print the flag upside down and block anyone who tells them so.

And getting N.I in the promo material when they aren't in Great Britain seems completely mental.

Ta. I'm trying to stay out of the Scottish politics pages here because they are haunted by a fair number of absolute wallopers. I think this song thing deserves being described as the normalisation of the far right too, it's the adoption lock, stock and barrel of far right slogans, chanting, misuse of children and compulsory displays of ethno-nationalist behaviour.

😂 When you self-declare as a walloper.

Will the new school uniform in england now be brown shirts & lederhosen for the over fives.

This is from the English curriculum guidance.

They ban the use of material from any organisation that wants to end capitalism. They ban material from organisations that endorse illegal activity, or even just fails to condemn illegal activity, regardless of what that material is about.

And then they make protesting illegal.

England is sleepwalking towards actual authoritarianism here.

Presumably this means that schools can't use anything produced by the government?

That point was made at the time, yes, especially as it was published during the whole breaking international law in a limited way thing. They've now been found to be throwing hundreds of millions pounds at their friends unlawfully, but hilariously that's not being treated as criminal. Why? Because we already live in an authoritarian state, we just haven't noticed yet.

I'm sure the queen's speech had something about trying to stop the judiciary over-ruling the government, for things like suspending parliament.

Not that i watched the wizened old crone, i read a report, so that might not be exactly correct.

No, you're right. Almost none of the laws defining the powers of the government are criminal laws. Literally the only way to enforce them is through judicial review. That's how the government was prevented from leaving the EU without the agreement of the people we actually elect - parliament - or from calling an election without the power to do so. It's how they've been prevented from illegally deporting people they don't want in the country. It's how Gurkhas got to settle in the UK.

Without judicial review we don't have the rule of law, and they want to slash the power of courts to apply the law to them.

You don't hear about this on the BBC because the government has hobbled them by installing its own people at the top and by threatening them with being, basically, abolished. No previous government has come close to interfering in the BBC like this.

Gammons will support the erosion of democracy because they don't actually like democracy, they believe strong leaders are more important (and they know it's not going to be their lives damaged by it). There have always been leftie twats screaming "fascists!" at everything the government does, so I don't think the general public are aware of the extent to which the dangers are real now. But it is real.

Sadly Democracy left the building long time ago, if it indeed was ever a real thing.

Oligarchy the new democracy.

Think there's a race on to whom becomes the first trillionaire. Only with government help do they get their way. Enslave the populous. Sully and silence them. Main Street has always been the biggest threat to the chattering classes and Boris is about to put an end to that.

No coincidence the 1% grew exponentially much richer during Covid.

I'll give Sturgeon her due, she's astute and savvy and a socialist, but just with the wrong party. If she fails to secure indy and I think she will, she becomes a busted flush. A failure and tbh a loss to the political class, because Scotland, far less Britain have never had such a dearth of political talent. Not a leader amongst them. Infested with immoral, self serving, incompetent corrupt b*****ds.

Follow the money and therein lies the power. Nothing new there, just more obvious.

There is much worse to come in the new world order.
