I've had two arguments online today on my mate's facebook page with idiots who think "the Nazis were socialists"

Despite absolutely every piece of evidence showing that's not true.

They've got "socialist" right there in the name, m8

The Trade Unions and the Communists were their biggest rivals. Nationalsozialismus translates as National socialism. So Nationalists and socialists.

National Socialism =/=  Socialism. It's a completely different ideology. They added sozialismus to the name solely to attract working class votes, their policies were utterly antisocialism.

What about the National bit? Do you mean, one is worse than the other, or one is better than the other?

It's just a name. The Liberal Party in Australia is more right wing than our Tory Party. It's the policies and what a party does that defines its ideology, not what it calls itself.
