The single biggest reason that millions abandoned the Tory Party at last Thursday’s election wasn’t the NHS, or education, or the cost of living, or poor infrastructure, or problems with rail services, or a shortage of affordable housing, or concern about pensions, or high mortgage rates it was because some Tories support the LGBT community. Everyone knows this!
Freedom Farter
Macron is trying to just ignore the election. Although his PM offered to resign, in line with the norm in France after losing an election, Macron ordered him to remain in post. Macron is saying "nobody won the election" which is untrue. NFP won the election, Renaissance (Macron) came second and RN came third. He's saying the only government he'll tolerate is one of his choosing, where he gets to break up the NFP coalition and only select certain parts from it which are more amenable to his agenda. The French constitution possibly allows him the power to do that as president but conventionally its not done for obvious reasons, it's highly undemocratic.
HibeeJibee
Macron has now accepted his PM's resignation. With populist far left ruling out a coalition with centrists/liberals and Ciotti's dissident Conservatives forming own party any government looks near enough impossible. It speaks to the chaos that the closest the leftist alliance has come to successfully nominating a candidate for PM is a Communist representing the island of Reunion off Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

I received a permanent ban yesterday from Twitter for saying that the sooner he drops dead the better. Seems to be okay on Twitter to incite violence of you are far right but God forbid if you say anything about them. welshbairn
Looks more likely that he'll get done for contempt of court by showing a film where he repeated accusations that were found to be libellous about that Syrian schoolkid who got beaten up. Might explain why the Met say they weren't involved. Pretending the terrorism act was used is more likely to get mugs like Elon Musk involved. Sherrif John Bunnell
It's now a 5 year jail sentence just for having a Zoom call to discuss a potential protest, so I expect the folk encouraging these disruptive protests to be hammered with equally heavy sentencing.
