Why wasn't there an option on the table for a ballot after the second decision was made, when the venue was changed?

Who has ever, ever mentioned any ballot for any semi final ever in the history of semi finals, or indeed in the history of ballots, apart from Celtic in the last couple of days. They are running really scared that this match will be the end of their treble treble, and this is the real crux of the matter here.

Why do you think are entitled to anything? Its the SPFLs job to provide a neutral venue for the semi final of their competition. They have, completely, and undeniably done so.

All other clubs seem to be in acceptance of this very simple fact, yet you have found issue with it.

Totally embarrassing to still be trying to find some sort of victimisation in this.

I have already said on the quarter final thread against the saints if Celtic are to lose a trophy i hope it's this one,the football will take care of itself.
It's not an entitlement to have a ballot it should be done in fairness, the hearts and sevco fans travelling is not an issue for the police,so stop making excuses.

I dare say BT Sport were keen on keeping the Semi Finals on the same day, particularly with both their"golden boys" involved in the two fixtures and probably used their leverage for them to remain so.

@wastecoatwilly, what would you propose given the draw of the fixtures and (presumably) that the dates couldn't be moved?

From a Policing point of view.

The police have no problem with fans travelling to Glasgow or auld reekie.

The second decision is the right one but the process stinks.

The Police clearly do have an issue with it since they raised concerns regarding having both fixtures at Hampden on the same day. Why would potentially having nearly 70,000 Rangers* & Aberdeen fans arriving in Edinburgh coinciding with potentially 25,000 Hearts fans leaving for Glasgow be any different?

Of the two fixtures, logistically, moving Celtic v Hearts to Murrayfield is the only sensible choice.

I think everyone agrees the process is shambolic and stinks but this is the SPFL, why should that surprise you?

Aberdeen, sevco and Celtic fans will clash in Glasgow it's all the same either way, sounds like any given Saturday.

No so why does the Aberdeen v sevco game get priority to stay at Hampden?
Why is it "priority"? Why do you think are entitled to play at Hampden? The League Cup is the SPFLs tournament. You are simply a participant. The semi final has to be neutral. It is. Whats the issue?

Any given Saturday has nowhere near the same numbers of opposing supporters due to the away allocations at Parkhead and Ibrox.

Celtic fans will have left Glasgow before Aberdeen fans arrive due to the staggered KO times.

You've still not offered a better solution for hosting both games on the same day......

Wastecoatwilly has finally completely lost it.

It’s his sense of entitlement that gets me, and deliberately ignoring common sense. Celtic don’t like to be told to do anything, unless they agree with it. If the SPFL had had the matches the other way round would Celtic still be calling for a ballot? They’re like the diva of Scottish football.

Why is not having a ballot unfair? Hearts v Celtic at Murrayfield & Aberdeen v Rangers at Hampden makes the most sense both logistically and for the police, so as neither the kick off time or travel are an issue for Celtic - you've said so yourself - why is it in any way unfair to just pick Hearts v Celtic to be moved?

Likely because the police suggested that having hearts v celtic at Murrayfield was the logical thing from a policing perspective. Why wasn't there a ballot for the kick off times for the original decision? Because the police wanted Aberdeen v Rangers first.

And as for Murrayfield not being neutral, when Hearts played there last season, they had the pitch dimensions laid out the same as tynecastle, which was part of the reason it looked so ridiculous for football. I'd think that the Spfl will have the pitch dimensions more similar to Hampden for the semi.
