scottsdad
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix teams told to stay away from Imola in flood alert The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix remains in doubt after Formula One and the authorities in Imola told teams and personnel not to attend the circuit on Wednesday due to the risks of flooding caused by severe weather. The sport and promoters are monitoring the situation and are in consultation with further updates expected during the day. The Emilia Romagna region has been placed under a red threat-level warning from the Italian authorities because of persistent heavy rain that threatens to cause flooding and landslides.
MP_MFC
There's apparently going to be an update at 1 today with suggestions that the race will take place but teams are expecting the schedule to change. Given the set up time that has been lost, are we maybe looking at FP1 Friday, FP2 & 3 on Saturday and Qualifying on Sunday pre-race?

Maybe lose an FP session on Friday, just Saturday and Sunday.
Mackie The Staggie
My guess is that some of the support races will be cancelled but the F1 race still to go ahead. That way they can bump Fridays free practise but hold longer sessions on Sat before a late afternoon qualifying. Maybe they'll delay the new qualifying format, which was supposed to be in place for this weekend, until Monaco or Spain.

Mr. Brightside
The right decision, but f**k off and get the race on, who cares about the people stranded.

Stu
After Extreme E attracted the likes of David Coulthard, Allan McNish and Gil de Ferran to Dumfries and Galloway last week, it's now Valtteri Bottas' turn to enjoy all the delights we have to offer. There's a big cycling event in Gatehouse of Fleet and he's taken advantage of the F1 being off to support his other half. Must be rare it's so wet in Italy someone has opted for Scotland instead.

Ended up having a go himself and his good lady won the women's event.

Spent years building dogshit cars, then built a decent one in 2008 before pulling out. That car went on to win the 2009 championship under the name Brawn. Came back, spent years getting their engines up to scratch. As soon as they build a decent engine they pull out again, leaving Red Bull to take on the (winning) engines. Why not just stay in and reap the rewards?
Iminavest
Perez firing it into the wall during Q1 is a bold strategy.
Mr. Brightside
What fucking corner was Perez trying to make there, cause it certainly wasn't turn 1.
Mr. Brightside
That was some lap from Verstappen, properly on the edge.
