Lawro
Am I right in assuming that due to this hideous behaviour, Airds goals will be expunged from the record books and any game he was involved in awarded to the opposition as a 3-0 victory??

He was appointed on 11th Oct and incident occurred on 16th Oct when he was under contract. So if sacked before then and had then went to trial and found not guilty, that’s a pretty good case for unfair dismissal. As soon as he pled guilty, he was sacked. Don’t think the club could have done much else beforehand. so still a miss Edited December 30, 2019 by Brazilianlex

You’re right. People should be sacked based on “common knowledge” and hearsay.

Hampden Diehard
You’re right. People should be sacked based on “common knowledge” and hearsay.Or a fact subsequently backed up in court? It was hardly hearsay. The incident wasn't a bit of banter that got out of hand.

Brazilianlex
in other news ... CLUB STATEMENT 30/12/2019 Cove Rangers FC is aware of an image which is circulating relating to one of our players at the recent Celtic v Rangers match. As a club we do not condone such behaviour and expect all of our players to represent our club in the correct manner at all times. Fraser Aird's contract with the club was due to expire at the start of January and as a result he will be leaving the club with immediate effect.

Are you seriously saying people should be treated as guilty until proven innocent? That’s certainly what you’re implying. Was the CCTV footage not widely available before the trial? Also, he pled guilty; that kinda infers that he was. Anyway, it's a Cove thread. I'll leave it there.

Aird was a raging bigot before he signed for Cove. Doing a 'w****r' gesture is not a bigoted move nor a sackable offence. Pretty silly move from the club to be honest, even if it mounts to no more than a symbolic gesture.
Bring Your Own Socks
Turns out it was all just a carefully orchestrated publicity stunt, according to the Rangers News. And they would know best. https://www.rangersnews.uk/columnist/rangers-cove-celtic-fraser-aird/ Sorry for the Cove fans for all this but when your chairman signs open bigots like Hartley and Aird the abuse is inevitable. Doesn't say much for your club's integrity I'm afraid. Cove directors behaved like hooligans at the recent Hampden game; mutton dressed as lamb.

CoveRangers1922
17 year old midfielder Josh Mulligan signs on loan for the rest of the season from Dundee. http://www.coverangersfc.com/news/dundee-midfielder-mulligan-signs-on-at-cove-rangers-for-rest-of-the-campaign/ Never heard of him or seen him play. Don’t know he’s if a centre mid or winger. Supposedly in the squad for Brechin on Saturday so might get on for a chance Edited January 2, 2020 by CoveRangers1922
