Then why, as soon as that situation was avoided, weren’t you calling for the club to get rid of him? What a load of utter bollocks. I'm somewhat entertained, if absolutely disgusted, by the new creative bullshit some of these idiots are coming up with to try and justify him signing initially and again now. Disgusting horrible rapist. Disgusting fans. Shame as there seems to be a fair few decent ones on here too.

Nothing creative or bullshittish there at all - just a factual account of why Goodwillie was signed in the first place. Given the lack of noise and impact at the time, it was then easier for the club to keep him thereafter. If you're happy to be ignorant of that and put it down to any Clyde fan who retained support of the club being a rape apologist, then so be it.

You do seem to enjoy wasting your own time given your re-appearance every couple of pages to denounce all but a few Clyde fans as rape apologists and scumbags. If you bothered to actually read any of the thread, though, you'd find most active on this site (including myself) speaking out against Goodwillie's signing, and articulating very well why that is. I understand that doing so might not appeal to you as much as sharting out sensationalist blanket statements of condemnation, however.
Pie Of The Month
At least the beast enablers don't hide in plain sight on here and show themselves up. Wasn't that formerly Gunther, the boy who had a weird obsession with gay men and tried way too hard to convince everyone he had a wife? He's been a wrong 'un for years.

This is the same organisation that apparently had a whip round to finance a car for Goodwillie, something that he obviously had no chance of affording himself on £1k a week. Mental.

John MacLean
Spoiler The reactions of fans from other clubs towards Raith Rovers and Clyde noticeably differ. When Raith signed Goodwillie there was obviously plenty of vitriol directed towards the decision makers at Stark's Park but largely sympathy and support for the Raith fans. That differs sharply with the reaction to the Clyde support. There are, of course, countless decent Clyde fans out there but the fact that so many not just support the return of Goodwillie to their club but actively facilitated his return is really dragging the name of their club through the mud. Notwithstanding normal football rivalry, that is sad. Raith Rovers will, eventually, recover from this debacle. Perhaps emerging as a Club more in touch not just with their support but with the continuing changing societal attitudes in general. Clyde, I'm not so sure. They signed Goodwillie first time around which is maybe forgivable. Attitudes have changed since then. Mine have probably shifted. To do so again after all the attention is just awful, in my opinion worse that Raith signing him. The reaction of some Clyde fans in lauding the return of this "legend" is just shameful. It is tarnishing the image of Clyde Football Club perhaps forever. Do they not care about that? Edit: No idea why this is showing hidden comments. I'm old. Popular Post Chanandler Bong
I’m a long-term lurker here but haven’t posted before. However the horrific events of the last week or so have made me feel compelled to voice my thoughts on the matter. Some of the stuff being trotted out by some Clyde ‘fans’ on here in the aftermath of Goodwillie returning is nothing short of rancid. Fair play to the decent, normal Clyde fans who have vowed to vote with their feet in the wake of the decision made by their board, or at least who are, as normal humans would be, disgusted by their club’s decision to re-sign a rapist. And to those shamefully deflecting and defending him because the case hasn’t been heard in a criminal court, you should be utterly ashamed. A court is a court (nothwithstanding the different onus’ of proof) and Goodwillie has been ruled a rapist. There is no denying that. And those trying to do so have outed themselves as utterly vile individuals. Goodwillie is a rapist. End of. I also can’t believe that I’ve been reading some folk suggesting that because he has been at the club before there’s nothing wrong in him returning. Clyde outed themselves as a rancid club when they made the decision to sign him 5 years ago. He is a rapist. They signed a rapist. They sold a rapist. They then re-signed a rapist. Absolutely disgusting. And to those asking ‘what would it take for it to be ok for him to get a gig at a football club’, for the avoidance of doubt for the normal, moral, rational people on here and in society: nothing. Absolutely nothing. He has been ruled to be a rapist. That should have meant he didn’t kick a ball at a meaningful level ever again. He shouldn’t be in a position where he’s either on a pedestal (in the eyes of kids, kids idolise footballers) or in the public eye in any way. Playing football in League One undoubtedly defies both of those points. So to any Clyde fans who feels anything but disgust towards their BoD and more so Goodwillie, who feels a minute bit of sympathy for Goodwillie and who doesn’t feel their club have made a colossal error in signing Goodwillie in the first place and more so for re-signing him, you’re nothing but a rape apologist. A completely abhorrent hill to die on and each one of you is a disgrace. To the decent Clyde fans, whatever percentage that is (it’s impossible to tell how big that section actually is from on this forum) who are rightly disgusted by all of this, I feel for you. I really do. Your club is vile, from the top through, you appear to have a section of supporters who welcome a rapist into the club not once but twice, and as a result, your club is rotten to the core. I hope the good ‘un’s can fight against this and stand up and be counted, but sadly the name of your club is tarred, and won’t be seen in a favourable light by Scottish football and the wider society for some time.

It can't be easy giving up something you love doing because of what is happening but doing so makes a stand against people like David Goodwillie being allowed to swagger around like he hasn't ruined people's lives. I hope all the ladies are snapped up by another club as soon as and can continue in sport.
