Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

To be fair they haven't created a huge amount. They've turned the ball over a lot, but we're actually winning the xG battle by a fair bit.
They're clearly very good, but not insurmountable.
To be fair, you get about 0.9 xG for Helanders open goal under no pressure, the way the xG system works. [emoji1787]

That said, I do agree they've been dominant without creating too much. Their goal is a great finish which would have really low xG based on position. They've had a few shots from free kicks and corners, bizarrely, that McGregor had to deal with. And twice they've looked like breaking through but good tackles from Helander and Goldson have meant no clear shot on goal.

As good as they've been, and they have been good, you're right that they've not really created much for all that dominance.

Just as long as it's not Harry Maguire on the spot...

If Slavia Prague keep this level of running up for 90 minutes, then they're definitely juicing. There is no other explanation.
Can't remember the last time I've seen a team work this hard. They're very well coached and prepared. All the good teams try to catch Rangers out with the quick switch to the opposite flank.
We need a change of shape to stop the overloads out wide. A narrow 4-4-2 like we went against Liege would work.

As poor as a Rangers have been this season. Any composure from Slavia in this 2nd half they would have created a few good chances.

Still at 1-1 that is a decent scoreline. But expect Slavia to score unless Rangers get their sh1t together.

Commentators praising Patterson but I think he's been poor tbh. The weaklink in the Rangers backline
He's in there with a Croatian and Swedish international and a 29 year old who's played every game this season. At 19 of he wasn't the weak link in that back line you'd be asking questions of the other 3.

Agree the other 3 have been better, but Paterson has been more than fine for a kid making his fourth senior start.
