Whilst all that's going on, he's being filmed at a hospital, and that will appear on the news tonight. I suspect most people don't give a shit about his corruption , which is problematic itself. The BBC Breakfast show this morning interviewed a few "random" people in the street, and each and everyone of them, were not aware of any problems with BoJo and his govt. Most seem to think everything was okay and that he was doing a good job.

Not entirely sure how we got here, but the "I'm alright, Jack" culture seems to have caught on big-style, along with a complete disregard for long-term consequences. It's a shame the divine Margaret isn't still around to see it.

Somewhere back I stated that the punishment should stand under the present rules but that it was reasonable to look at the process for the future.

Johnson and his band of corrupt fucking Tories are banking on the belief that the majority of the UK public don't give a flying shit what they get up to. They all believe that an 80 seat majority gives them the right to be untouchable. I suspect strongly that the opposition are preaching to the converted....Labour and SNP voters already know what the Tories are....and that those (especially those in red wall seats) who voted Tory because of populist and ideological reasons care nothing about lobbying, corruption or the colour of Johnson's wallpaper. In the short term, the party who have most to gain out of this may well be the LibDems. Your more educated, liberal Tory voter may turn to them in upcoming by-elections. In the long term though the Tories will lose little, because the fact that Johnson is a cowardly, despicable, cheating khunt of a man is already factored in. 'It's Boris, ain't it. He's a bit of a lad...' Tories (+3)

As an exercise, try and think of how you'd explain how this all links back to Johnson - it's quite complicated to do. It necessitates explaining a 'three line whip' for example. And even what lobbying itself is. It needs to be something that can be explained within a sentence for it to be of any help to the opposition. For example - 'he was shagging his mistress at his office, breaking COVID social distancing rules'
NotThePars
Anyone who says it doesn’t have cut through is just endorsing the inability (or unwillingness) of the opposition to point out the PM is a corrupt charlatan surrounded by corrupt charlatans.“The PM has used hundreds of thousands of people dying (including your loved ones) to make sure him and his pals get richer and he continues to do it every chance he gets” is a piece of piss selling point for any other party but the current Labour Party are too busy staving off bankruptcy to do this.
williemillersmoustache
Hmm, polls seem for once to be not too horrendous for Keith. Anyway, Alberto Costa MP just reminding us there that he is one of the leading snivelling little Jock-pet Tory shits we have the misfortune to have a say on how our country is run. While Pete Wishart somewhat optimistically reported the Tories to the Met run by Dame Cressida, just had her contract renewed despite all the mad shit she has done Dick.

He and Cummings got Brexit done and, in the process, produced a great majority and for that we are very grateful. However, you will have noticed that most of the right wing newspapers have been giving him hell for months now and the only thing that’s saving him is his popularity within the country as you correctly opined. That won’t last and I would guess that he’ll be gone before too long. We now need a serious minded politician to take forward conservative policies rather than the socialist ones that we’ve been subjected to recently. The role of the state is currently far too high under the guise of Covid but this needs to be reduced to allow enterprise to expand and flourish. I don’t think you need to worry about having Boris in charge for too much longer. -

Ha ha good one Giving the state's money to your rich mates while placating the mob with bread and circuses is not socialism. The government isn't spending to support incomes or improve quality of public services. It is spending to support capitalism through a crisis. The Tories only supported free markets when they helped enrich the rich. They have no ideology other than maintaining privilege. Johnson is not a temporary aberration of conservatism. He is conservatism.
williemillersmoustache
The difficulty all the current Tory MPs and potential Tory leaders have is that they were forced to swear blood fealty to Boris, just like Trump, or they'd have been thrown in the bin with Gauke, Grieve and so on. Condemnation of their BrexitKing is condemnation of themselves.
