Guest Moomintroll
Been listening to radio x for a while but due to jump ship. Constant oasis/Gallagher tracks and Sam Fender every 5 minutes. That has been pissing me off lately as well, they started off well after the XFM rebrand but reaching Bauer Media levels of song predictability recently. I like the songs but I don't need to hear them on the hour, every hour.

Dunfermline Don
[emoji106]The BBC World Service is excellentThat used to be a must listen on a Saturday evening at 5pm UK time when I worked on ships. The reception would often fade in and out and was always guaranteed to go completely when your team’s results were being read out. It was even more frustrating when you heard half the score and the reception went as they read your teams name out. It was a test signal for classic. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/media/2009/jun/02/birdsong-radio-channel Quite liked it tbh Things like that do make you wonder why broadcasters bother. See things like FishCam or Yule Log, which can end up being more popular than the regular programming.
Shandon Par
+1 for 6 Music. I don’t think it’s as good since the presenter reshuffle earlier in the year but still plays some amazing stuff from all genres. Quite like a bit of Magic Soul too.
capt_oats
If web radio's an option then KEXP out of Seattle is good (and really supportive of Scottish bands): https://www.kexp.org/

The exact same songs are played at the same time on all the stations and the different “presenters” try to make out they are DJs. Even their bigger competitions are the same one with each presenter asking the exact same questions to a loop of the winner giving the answers. I only listen to Talksport now, it might be mostly English biased but it can be interesting most of the time. Modern music is shite anyway. Check a traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade, check a trade dot com.
