Last wednesday I remember feeling utterly fucked but put it down to shift work. Anyway off to tesco I go due to the fact the fridge was empty and the kids were eyeing up the cat for a meal. All very civilised got in line with a trolley halfway round the car park waited about 20 minutes to get on. The store was quiet and pretty well stocked, still didn't get toilet roll or many tinned goods but other wise loads of fresh fruit, veg and bread. Back now and I thought I'd be knackered but still feeling pretty good only long term issue appears to be a lack of taste and smell. anyone know when those will return? Are you now a Celtic fan?

Only a 1000 confirmed cases. Hopefully. Although if testing was more wide spread and there were 65,000 confirmed cases in Scotland then people would be shitting themselves and the usual SNPBad would be out. Don't test and no one will have it.

Worthwhile to ensure the food you have in lasts a bit longer without requiring someone else to go to a shop themselves to pick up more for you (provided you’re pre-paying by card obviously) or selfish to make restaurant staff and delivery drivers continue to work and put themselves at risk when they don’t have to be considered essential despite providing food? Tonight, we'll be eating mostly veggie pizza. Ordered by phone, picked up at front door of restaurant en route of our excercise walk. Only doing it to give them some business. 10 euros , that'll keep them going.

Minimal risk to the delivery drivers as I don't think anyone is taking cash payments just now (any takeaways I mean) and they are often leaving the stuff outside the door then chapping the door. If you do make sure it's from a place that isn't allowing collection and is only doing delivery. Why so? I don't see the reasoning. I intend to collect one tonight at the door of the restaurant. Can't really see how that is any different. Happy to be educated.

More people will be going in and out of the same area. More folk equals more risk.

The working from home thing is being rolled out to as many as possible which means the people still using the office aren't crammed in and there is ample space to avoid people. In fairness to our work they have got 2 spaces between each desk, only 1 person allowed in the lifts at a time and "social distancing" is being taken seriously by almost all. The cleaners are constantly wiping down all the doors, vending machines etc and all in all we're just getting on with it. On the subject of public transport, I'm based in Glasgow but commute from Ayrshire, the trains are now really quiet and the buses are empty so again social distancing hasn't been an issue. That all said, I'd still feel better / safer working from home but I'm trying not to worry about it too much. Que sera sera as they say. Not in the White House, afaik
AUFC90
919 in Italy today. From a statistical point of view that's really really bad. The experts don't have the slightest clue what they're doing here.

Sunday I had my last takeaway. I went to the usual pizza place, placed my order, paid the guy with cash (the shame!) he gave me my change and then preceded to make the pizza! Didn’t wash his hands beforehand so that put me off. Haven’t ventured to the Chinese for 2 weeks as I fear the same poor hygiene practices

A lockdown is only effective if people abide by it. I’m not saying that’s not the case in Italy, I simply don’t know, but the death rate will be determined by people’s response to the government’s policies rather than by the policies themselves.
Guest Moomintroll
Tesco have given their workers a temporary 10% increase during this time, however it's nowhere near enough for what they're doing and the crap they're having to deal with. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I honestly believe that anyone deemed to be a "key worker" should have their tax suspended whilst this crisis is ongoing, as a gesture of Thanks if nothing else. Let's be honest, if he can find £2,500 per month to pay people for doing nothing at home, then he can afford to give a tax break to the people on the front line, especially as they'll be the ones who undoubtedly end up paying for it all.I like the cut of your jib.

How is that even possible with a 3 week lockdown? Surely the deceased haven’t been infected since BEFORE lockdown?
