My neighbour across the road is about 85 and has poor vision, how can they expect her to be able to work some "digital passport". I'm honestly shocked at how easily theyll be able to bring vaccine passports in. The age of resistance is long gone in this country My parents are the same and this also goes for most of the older blokes I know at the Golf Club. It wont happen, the Tory backbenches just wont stand for it as they're well aware that much of their support base comes from the elderly middle classes and this draconian nonsense would be tantamount to political suicide.
Gaz
Perhaps controversial but I've never understood folk in their 60s (or even 70s) who 'have never had a mobile phone' or 'don't use internet banking' or anything like that. 25 years ago they were in their 30s and being told mobile phones were the future. If they've ignored that I don't have a great deal of sympathy. There was a woman on one of the local Facebook groups a few weeks ago moaning that her local bank was going to close and her mum, who was - wait for it - 52, was going to be stuck as she didn't know about Internet Banking. She'd have been in her fucking twenties when it would have become apparent it was the way it was going to go. Billy Jean King
I see the Dutch are trialing "holidays" to Greece. Inverted commas as it entails being tested, flown to Greece, bussed to an AI hotel where you are not allowed outside the hotel boundaries (not even to the beach) and a week later flown home straight into a mandatory 10 day quarantine. You need to pay 400e for this pleasure. Apparently the tour company have been swamped unbelievably.

I really think it will happen. The backbenchers dont seem to care about political suicide, something like 400 odd voted for the covid powers to be extended and only 70 odd (iirc) went against them. Even BJ himself has did a complete 180 on his views on ID cards from 15 or so years ago. Edited March 26, 2021 by Thereisalight..
