BORIS JOHNSON'S FIVE-STAGE PLAN

1. From Monday

Unlimited exercise allowed. Employees to be encouraged to return to workplaces that have stayed open through- out the lockdown if safe. Garden centres could reopen while there may be more guidance on the use of outdoor spaces including open-air markets, high streets and cemeteries.

2. End of May/Start of June

Phased return of primary schools, starting with Year 6. Households could be allowed to expand “social bubble” to meet one other household of family or friends.

3. June (End)

Phased return of secondary schools before the summer holidays. Small team sports such as five-a-side football could be allowed, along with outdoor gatherings of fewer than 30 people. Cafes with outdoor seating could reopen while outdoor sports like golf, tennis and angling might resume. Possible return of Premier League matches, although behind closed doors.

4. End of August/Start of September

Pubs, bars and restaurants could gradually reopen although customers would be expected to follow strict social distancing rules.

5. October

Possible return of football fans to matches. Gyms could be allowed to re-open. But any further lifting of restrictions to get back to normal life would be in doubt amid fears of a second wave of coronavirus or an outbreak of seasonal flu.

Don't do what I did, and let the kids take a number 1 to your head!

From both a social and spread of the disease it makes little sense to have things like garden centres come before small scale visits to immediate family.  It seems an utterly mad thing to have at the top of the list, they are about as non-essential as it gets.

If we were to keep social distancing in place due to fears over an outbreak of seasonal flu then the ball is well and truly burst.

Shelter in place has not worked in NY

ALBANY — The majority of recently hospitalized coronavirus patients in New York are people who have followed the precaution of staying home, Gov. Cuomo said Wednesday.

The governor said it was “shocking" that 66% of new coronavirus hospitalizations are people who are either retired or unemployed and not commuting to work on a regular basis.

The statistic comes from a preliminary survey of 113 hospitals, done over three days, that included 1,269 responses as the state seeks more information about how COVID-19 spreads.

According to the data, 18% of new cases came from nursing homes, 4% from assisted-living facilities, 2% from congregate-care facilities, 2% were homeless, less than 1% from prisons and 8% were marked as “other."

“This is a surprise: Overwhelmingly, the people were at home,” Cuomo said during a briefing on Long Island. “We thought maybe they were taking public transportation, and we’ve taken special precautions on public transportation, but actually no, because these people were literally at home.”

A total of 46% of new cases were unemployed and 37% were retired. Age also played a factor, the data shows that 73% of people being hospitalized were 51 and older, the survey found.

Johnson doesn't want us to see those pesky EU types relaxing their lockdowns first.

France starts 'deconfinement' on Monday.   I've invited a few folk round to get pished.

Masks optional. (straws provided)

Those much heralded gowns from Turkey haven't been used as they didn't meet safe standards.

Yep, announced its arrival days before the plane even took off from Turkey, then take a fortnight to admit it's unsuitable.

So, announce good news when it looks likely, suppress bad as long as you can.

Add this to the "herd immunity was never policy", and "what comparison slides? You can't compare our massive numbers to these suddenly less massive numbers because, er..." to name but two massive fucking lies, and it's no wonder people are getting fucking angry. The latest pointy-head assuming the rules don't apply to him hasn't helped.

The Government are going to have to relax the restrictions soon, because if folk aren't allowed out on the streets, they'll be taking to the streets. Especially as those who are suffering most financially and socially are those who are least likely to have a garden or external area at home, and most likely to live in overcrowded accomodation. Also, dare I say it, pretty likely to have fallen for the Boris Bullshit that got these cúnts into power, and least likely to take betrayal calmly.

That looks reasonable. (Not sure about schools going back, though. Social distancing would be impossible with primary school children. Also read somewhere the teaching unions aren't keen on it.)
