League Reconstruction 20/21 season

Could we? I dare say with 8 games to go, 3 places and 6 points separating us, it's highly unlikely. Had you said we could have easily ended up in a playoff, I'd be inclined to agree but the last win and the form we were in means that we were least likely of the 4 teams in the mix to be in 12th at the end.

The point is anything could've happened.

Guff. Technically, the league season lasts 38 games. We managed to change that though.

Yes you could have divided the money out evenly but not awarded a prize, it really clear. Take your fucking marron glasses off.

I think we all know what's going to happen here. There will be an out of court settlement that will be undisclosed and it will be less than a million. The fans will claim it was more than that and will suit Hearts board members down to the ground.

Hearts will claim victory as they got compensation for a clear 'wrong' in their eyes, and the board will use it to deflect away from their own inept performance. The spfl will be the bogeyman - it was never the fault of budge, Levein or the squad.

As a Hibs fan I felt genuinely sorry for them but the way they have handled this whole fiasco is an embarasment and a few of my more reasonable Jambo pals agree.

If I was a fan I would want an inward investigation into why we won four games of football with the fourth largest budget in the league.

But you are not sueing the clubs😎

What do you suppose the SPFL is, if not the clubs?

It's not some amorphous mythical entity, it's a limited company with 42 shareholders. They will all be affected in some way should Heartrs win.

And being the financial fall guys for the majority of the club's doesn't suit us, Partick  or Stranraer.

That's the problem with being the minority, mostly it is unfair (but not illegal).

Another few weeks and the bottom of the table could have changed dramatically. Ross County were in free fall.

County had taken more points from the final 6 games than Hearts. So who out of the two were in free fall?

For the life of me I can't seem to find any articles pre Covid from the bastions of Scottish football integrity, Heart Of Midlothian, demanding reconstruction. Surely a club doing all this with such a lack of self interest and for the greater good of all teams in Scotland would have been campaigning for change for years now?

I thought you would find Anne Budge suggesting we cut the number of clubs in half?

But why would both sides back down when they both claim to be confident that the outcome will go their way ?

Let's look at Hearts success rate with Budge as their leader - every battle she has led them into, on the field or off it, has resulted in defeat and humiliation. She may be the common denominator here. And yet the Hearts fans still swallow her bait every time. Of course, she is a very successful businesswoman.

Gullible lot.

Pointless arguing now anyway, hopefully we win this court case and start to see all these clubs "take their medicine"

Including all the clubs who voted with you for 14-10-10-10.

Surely it was in Hearts interests to have AB inside the reconstruction tent, pissing out though? Time was fairly tight but Rangers proved that a decent level of detail could be provided, albeit in a pishy proposal. Hearts totally failed to do that, basically submitting their reconstruction ideas on the back of a beer mat. A fairly basic breakdown of how the pain was going to be spread around, coupled with a bit less of a confrontational tone could probably have got a 14-10-10-10 format through for two years

I agree, and from what we gleaned out of that Sportsound podcast the other day, she didnt even bother to call clubs (despite having said something along the lines that the proposal will take time because they had to discuss with all clubs........) in the lower leagues to discuss options / plans / finances etc.

It seemed to me at the time - and was confirmed by Findlays revelation - that Budge naively assumed that getting the BBC to write glowing advertorials about Hearts would ensure clubs were "onside".

It seems clear that reconstruction - while positive for a number of clubs - was going to be disastrous for many more, so it shouldnt have been much of a surprise then that all these clubs basically said "f**k you" when asked if they were going to back it.

It makes the bullshit yesterday about how Scottish football have let them and Partick down and all the mewling about self interest so much more delicious.

Budge has basically turned them into pariahs, laughed at by most fans, apparently now hated by most of the Premiership, and almost all of the lower league clubs.

Its all a bit of a laugh, eh?

The other possibility is that clubs can be voted out of the SPFL by a qualified resolution under Article 166. Not the same as a specific rule, of course, but if there was enough support amongst the other clubs, anybody could be expelled. Probably extremely unlikely to get enough support, though.

Does it cover Pie & Bovril votes?
