I always laugh at grown virgins in the 40s & older screaming "I DO NOT CONSENT" at the polis as they get launched in the back of the van at their protest events. All because they were told it works, it clearly doesn't yet they persist !

TL;DR - Some whack job conspiracy theorists took a chance to twist an urban planning concept into a plan to control the world.

In that case they've been at work in Scotland for decades. I know plenty of people who must only leave their own scheme maybe a handful of times a year. not like you need a man with a gun to enforce it!

In other news, Radio Four's More or Less show did a segment on prominent YouTuber John Campbell's claims about death rates among the vaccinated and unvaccinated for Covid.  Essentially he made a video highlighting a claim that the death rates for vaccinated people were significantly lower than those among vaccinated people and called for government investigations into why this was the case.  Spoiler alert, the claim was wrong.

Just had a test of the Emergency Alert System that activates everyone's cellphones. Turns out there's been a series of emails and notes going around warning people to switch off their phones to avoid the alert signal, because that signal will generate a 5G signal that will cause between 20% and 40% of the people who got COVID vaccines to have the Marburg virus in the vaccines active and turn them into zombies. Terribly disappointed I didn't know this BEFORE the event so I could have prepared makeup for it...but probably for the best with all the armed nutjobs around here.

I remember thinking his videos at the start of the pandemic were straightforward and useful updates during a messy time. Hadn't really given him any thought since then - is it just a case of him getting a taste of fame/power and seeing this as an opportunity to prolong it?

He realised his Youtube videos got far more likes when he questioned the mainstream science, and he went for it bigly. It's all about the money. Same as people like Russell Brand who started off on the left but realised the money was in conspiracy theories and the right, the people who will pay and subscribe to watch you on Rumble or Youtube aren't the types who read widely or watch C4 news, they want confirmation that Soros and Bill Gates are planting chips in your brain.
