DiegoDiego
Red card ?Yellow, he dispossessed someone and was running up the wing when someone tripped him up and bear hugged him simultaneously. It was far from a 9/10 performance (that was Soriano) with some question marks defensively and no great play in the final third but for a boy of his age making his debut in Serie A it was a very promising introduction.
RossBFaeDundee
Had streaming issues throughout the second half and didn't see much of it, but I thought he fit in just fine and didn't look out of place. Hopefully the start of a fruitful time in Italy for the lad.

It's a simple concept. Edit: Look at the games he played last season. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-gilmour/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/423744/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= Hardly given a chance then played most of his minutes in the actual first team during the return after lockdown where teams played three times per week. This is a very bizarre and obtuse argument you are making here. He only turned 19 a couple of months ago, and last year was his first in the Chelsea first team. That means that at the age of 18 he managed to break into the team and get minutes at the side who finished comfortably in the top four in England. After he made his debut he was in and around the squad every week and played quite a few games before his injury. He absolutely should be somewhere near the Scotland squad on the very simply basis that he is a million miles better than Kenny McLean, Callum McGregor or John Fleck, and would regularly start ahead of any of the three of them if he played for their clubs.

I've said several times I think he should be in the squad if he is getting regular first team football whether it be on loan or at Chelsea. I don't think he should be playing for Scotland if the only football he is getting is in the reserve league. I don't think he is going to get much game time at Chelsea this year.

DiegoDiego
He got a pretty good write up from La Gazzetta today. 7/10 and in the match report they say that Hickey grew in confidence, starting moves with his big personality and later that he had earnt the trust of his teammates who were constantly looking for him.
Marshmallo
Would there be all this hoopla if he had gone to West Brom or Burnley and put in a 7/10 performance in one game? -
DiegoDiego
Would there be all this hoopla if he had gone to West Brom or Burnley and put in a 7/10 performance in one game? Considering he's an eighteen year old and was at a championship side a few days ago, probably.
Rodhull
Scottish 18 year olds starting games in Serie A are ten a penny lads. Nothing to get excited about.

Not even joking to say wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if he's at Juventus in three years. Steady on. He had a good first game but it's early doors yet. He has just as much chance of being on loan with Montreal Impact in years as he does being at Juventus Plenty of promise but need to keep expectations in check at the moment
TheScarf
I watched the fist half on Livescore. He got stuck right in and put in some great tackles. That utter dweeb Palacios plays for them too. Him with that 2 strand ponytail on an otherwise bald head.
Guest Rscot
Hickey looked good last night, some really nice runs going forward, good in possession, even when being pressed by 2 or 3 opposition players in tight areas. Looks a bargain at 1.5million, if that’s what was payed. If he is just as comfortable on the right side then he could well be the man for right-back slot in the not too distant future. Just really need a hard-tackling defensive midfielder or two. Edited September 29, 2020 by Rscot
