No Edinburgh derby next week either. Instead we will be watching St Mirren to see if they can keep up their pressure on Celtic. With a match against 3rd place Rangers.

In this case they've got it right. 2nd against 3rd trumps 5th against 6th.

Is it cynical to think that the only reason Sky are showing Kilmarnock v Aberdeen on Sunday and not Hibs v Celtic is because their early English game kicks off an hour early at 1pm?

It will surely be more to do with their number of picks from Easter Road, given that they've already committed to showing the festive Edinburgh derby from there and have potential post-split matches to think about from there too. Killie v Aberdeen has been a reasonably common pick for them over the last few years.

As someone suggested elsewhere, presumably, they pick Killie v Aberdeen games to prove why they don't pick games outwith those involving the arse cheeks very often.  They are almost always terrible.  A small step up from Aberdeen v St J games, right enough.

I’m beginning to wonder - is this actually an in-joke in Scottish sports media?

Was watching Dundee's crossbar challenge on Soccer AM from 2015 and clocked the comments

A tale as old as time.

Midweek round at the end of February and instead of the Edinburgh Derby they’ll be showing Ross County v St Mirren and Livingston v Motherwell.

I’m certain the reason for passing the derby is so they can keep back a pick at Tynecastle for a post-split game against one of the arse cheeks.

Those are extremely random choices but I'm pleasantly surprised at them. Four teams who don't usually get much coverage out with games against Celtic and Rangers, and unless Livi are completely adrift, they should all hopefully have something riding on them.

Is it not basically that there's no EPL on meaning they really need some SPFL on, but they don't wish to exhaust their quotas at the top 6 clubs (even an Edinburgh derby), to keep them for post-split OF?
