kingjoey
I’ve no idea why so many people are getting their knickers in a twist over this. I might be wrong, but is this not only the second time that Livi’s artificial pitch has had a match postponed because of the weather? I’ve been at two games, could be three, where matches at Pittodrie were put off because of flooodlight failure. Things out of everybody’s control happen. Ehm...maybe like a pandemic.

Where will it end? Probably with Hibs getting relegated again, so it's a win-win all round.

Parts of the pitch get zero sunlight, the bottom of a valley where the drainage is minimal and all water pools to the bottom and next to a river. It's been an issue far longer than this year alone, if the pitch was still grass then it would be an absolute state especially after the snow we had and we'd be seeing another month of call offs depending on incoming weather Only one solution then for Livingston..........

We don't own our stadium either so we don't exactly have a say in what we do with the pitch. We rent it from the West Lothian Council who let West Lothian Youth Foundation use it. Wait, are you telling us there's a council run pitch in the countries top football division? As far as I know, aye. The council own the stadium so it would make sense. They got the stadium when the mad Italians were running about claiming we'd be playing Champions League football in a few years

craigkillie
Wait, are you telling us there's a council run pitch in the countries top football division? There are council run pitches in some of the biggest leagues in the world. The UK is fairly unique in having most clubs owning their grounds.

Cptn Hooch
48 minutes ago, Bob Mahelp said: It's the responsibility of the home club, the SPFL and then the referee to make an advance judgement on the state of the pitch. If there was any...any...doubt at all, Livi should have informed the SPFL and had the referee in to look at the pitch at lunchtime by the latest today. But no, the amateur fuckwits waited until Aberdeen travelled, until it pished down as forecast, and until the referee got there before even considering that the pitch was unplayable. We're in serious times. This is a f**k up by Livingston, again. Time for them and the SPFL to take responsibility for this shambles. If the referee had any concerns to start with then he should have carried out an inspection earlier than 5 mins before kick off. What he seemed to forget is that anyone watching the stream could see that the ball bounced and ran fine considering the weather. I've seen games go ahead in worse weather and with pitches in worse states. 23 minutes ago, kingjoey said: No pitches are “all weather”. Some are grass and some are artificial.
