Please include me again for this season Done. I had already generated the fixtures, though, and you're lucky there was an odd number of players (otherwise it would have been a much fiddlier job to insert a new player). This does mean that both me and @Caro-Kann have to play catchup with a game each for the first week. Please don't make a habit of this sort of thing. Accommodating latecomers can make administration trickier!

It was, for me, an aggressive start but not really in doubt once you trapped my queen. See you for the return as and when.
ancientnoise
P&B Cup - The Final So the final of the Winter 2023-24 edition will be the current holder versus the double-hopeful. @Curmudgeon- I've invited you to a match, and randomised the colours. If you're OK with that, let's play! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17WN7fAFWHEjwEFmI5JgTBs95NbaGBGkqpnReiRmCfkQ/edit#gid=861550279

N5 Spur
Division B, Round 2 @The Other Foot / Dustysghost defeats N5 Spur via checkmate. Nice comeback from my opponent - I felt I had enough chances to win but didn't make the most of them and was punished accordingly but a smart queen/bishop trap. 6 misses wasn't particularly clever of me. Have a good tournament and see you for the return.
ancientnoise
Result: Div A - Round 1 ancientnoise (white) happily takes the offer of a draw from RedVtop. Two white bishops, a rook each, equal / unpassed pawns, not much scope for attack by either. Fair result. Thanks to @Caro-Kannfor the match and again welcome to Div A. pleslie99
@arab_joe beats pleslie999 by resignation thought I was doing ok then it crumbled away and was constantly on the back foot. Well played.

Couldn't really have asked for a tougher start than away to last season's champions so was happy to find my draw offer accepted and get a league point on the board.

DeeTillEhDeh
Occasionally a game comes up where you know instantly the opponent has blundered and you're left with a classic puzzle position. ancientnoise
Result: Div A - Round 4 ancientnoise (black) beats invergowrie by resignation. Noticed that the Game Review tool on chess.com was down and unusable for a while after this one, which is probably a blessing in disguise for both of us. Thanks to @invergowrie arabfor the match.

Next move is Re8 and mate as the f7 rook is pinned to the King by the Bishop. Edited March 22 by DeeTillEhDeh
